Do you really think the earnings are in no way correlated to oil prices? LOL You should not be investing in stocks if you really think that simplistically
kind of agree with both maybe a 50 percent cut would of been prudent, it seems they just wanted to cut it to equal RIG, even though objectively they look like they are in much better shape.
Cramer is unreal he is such a moron this falls almost 60 percent while he tells you to hold or buy, then when he finally says its totally dead rallys over 25 percent. Biggest #$%$ clown on tv
If they did they just reissue them to management as 0 cost stock options. Thats why I hate buy backs, they buy back a million shares then issue 2.
If your time frames are long enough, You will make money. Personally if I wasn't already invested I rather wait it out in something like COP that is still paying you to wait. But 15 probably sucks for both share holders and the company. 16 probably decent for the stock still kinda suck for company, and 17 everything shakes itself out. Least by 17 I want 2.00 a year in Dividened, and for the next 2 years I hope my other investments carry me through. If the whole market is about to correct we probably paid are pain already and I sell off my winners and hold on to this..
Yea you obv have no clue and are just trying to sound smart on a yahoo message board. It might be in a multi year down cycle, but with its backlog and finacial position compared with other off shore drillers it will emerge stronger and management whether you agree with their move or not have taken proactivie steps to weather a multi year down cycle, or your second motivation is you are short and trying to move the neddle on a yahoo message board which in a lot of ways is more clueless then just not understanding the stock. it might hit single digits it really might but this stock is no where near bankruptcy.
I guess that depends on your time frame, Esv will hit 50 before the dow hits 36,000. But I don't expect much near term over performance. But I did make a lot of money waiting out the sell offs in target and hess before that so we shall see. I miss that div maybe they will increase it to 30 cent a quarter at least if things start to clear up.
Its management and there lie that the div was safe three months ago and that they were commited to it that has this stock falling off the cliff, componded with the over abundence of oil, along with even when oil was at 80 plus the fact that major oil companies were probably going to scale back, on off shore drilling. This isnt hedge funds or short sellers or anything else. It is still probably the best of breed but at this point I guess thats a lot like the best stall in the gas station mens room. I am going to wait ot out and hope my other investments carry me through. But ESV is dead money for atleast two years to come. Management all but told you that, so I think its optimistic at this point to believe we see 30 again before we see 15.
