HP Undercuts Surface 3 with $299 Pavilion x2
Looking to appeal to students of all stripes, HP has redesigned the Pavilion x2, its budget 10-inch 2-in-1, as well as its high-end Envy line of entertainment notebooks. Available in July, these notebooks will feature Intel and AMD’s latest CPUs and GPUs, audio from Bang & Olufsen, and increased battery life in thinner and lighter designs.
Available July 21 and starting at $299, the HP Pavilion x2’s 10-inch 1366 x 768 IPS display detaches from the keyboard via magnets; it’s sturdy enough so that I was able to hold the device by the screen and not have the keyboard fall off. It’s also reversible, so that you can turn the screen around 180 degrees to face someone else, or to turn the x2 into a large tablet. Combined, the X2 weighs 2.48 pounds, and the tablet alone is 1.29 pounds. That’s a little heavier than the iPad Air, but slightly lighter than the Surface 3.

Conductive Inkjet Technology (Touch) june 2014
CIT commissioned its coating manufacturing facility on time early in the financial year and all coated film manufacturing was successfully migrated from the original pilot line to the new high-speed line ahead of schedule. Annual sales of coated film amounted to GBP3.3 million during the year, being a mix of sales for our partner's production qualification and sales for end customer products. Two program wins were announced during the financial year (HP Omni 10(TM) and the HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G2(TM)) and one was subsequently announced soon after (HP ElitePad 1000 G2(TM)). All three program wins were for HP products with screen sizes in the range of 10.1" to 11.6".
The touch sensor market remains an enormous market and manufacturers including HP, ASUS, Lenovo, Dell and a number of Chinese white box manufacturers are all believed to be using metal mesh solutions, from various suppliers, in several of their products and the adoption of metal mesh remains a key strategic objective of the major OEMs.
Key developments during the year in these areas are either in evaluation trials with our partner or in the final stages of scaled up testing within our Cambridge facility. We are well resourced to scale coated film output from our Cambridge operation to support growth in sales of touch sensor materials. There are now limited needs for additional capital expenditure in our operation.

Also xtouch will not be affected by millions in foreign exchange rate fluctuations that C.I.T./Carclo and atmel had to deal with.

  • Non-GAAP revenue of $316.9 million for the first quarter 2015 excludes the XSense business which has been exited. Quarterly results preceding to the first quarter of 2015 have not been recast to reflect the exit from the XSense business.
GAAP gross margin was 46.3% in the first quarter of 2015 contrast with 40.6% in the fourth quarter of 2014 which comprised of a $26.6 million charge for the impairment of manufacturing assets related to the XSense business, and 41.5% in the first quarter of 2014 which comprised of a $7.1 million loss from manufacturing facility damage and related shutdown.
Non-GAAP gross margin was 47.6% in the first quarter of 2015 contrast to 49.0% in the right away preceding quarter and 44.0% in the first quarter of 2014. Non-GAAP gross margin excludes the XSense cost of revenue for the first quarter 2015 only.

  • Intel and Rambus likely to soon sign a major license deal, according to an analyst who highlighted the company in a research note.

Fact is you're not totally correct about your post from london fogs self serving post.

Unxl can extend the term beyond 31 October 2015 from reading edgar filings.

So say demand is greater than what the CS fab can produce, the ability to include the Cambridge sites' possible use imo is available on a an month to month basis or longer if given prior notice before any expiration of said facility could be closed. Time will tell based on any design wins and product quantity demand needs.

If Uni-Pixel wanted to extend the Term of production in uk could under certain conditions is viable.

As well from reading the agreements the use of the Xsense trademark for atmel & CIT sensor production will be ending and Uni Pixel Displays Trademark or Trademarks will take effect for the products from production forward.

-----In 2013, Synaptics pioneered this new dimension with our ForcePad™ technology.

ForcePad detects the amount of pressure that the user’s finger(s) exert on the touch surface, delivers responsive feedback and added a new way of control and usability for users. By varying the amount of pressure applied, users can now control the speed of a gesture operation and continue the motion after the gesture stops.

The fact is that this technology is already starting to gain traction and buzz amongst key OEMs. Our ForcePad press technology has already been shipping with industry leading products, including HP’s flagship Elitebook Folio 1020 and our second generation ForcePad products are currently sampling.
