Thanks to MAS-savian over at Ihub for showing me this deal. Too bad her barely posts here anymore because of pschopaths like WW.
Should be here by the 19th. That gives me time to compare it to the MacBook Air. Might be returning the MacAir for the 2nd time. hahaha. $ 479 for Lenovo/Haswell/touch is the best deal in town.
He doesn't know what he's talking about. He get a kick out of causing an uproar here. He tells himself he's cool and funny.
Ashraf is very visible and is letting Intel management know some concerns that investors see in hopes that they address concerns. Us Long term investors LOVE that. You idiot daytraders, not so much.
Thanks...I played with the Air again, changed the resolution so that the words were larger and bought it again. hahaha. I think I was straining my eyes looking at the small words, so changed the resolution and it made a big difference. By the time I would buy Windows machine and have to pay for MS Office, I'm up near 1000 bucks with a heavier machine and half the batter life. That made the Airl a no-brainer. Crazy ! All's well that Haswell.
Is it customizable? Meaning can I make ebay and google look just like they do on my Windows Toolbar, meaning they look just like their actual logo? It would be mucy easier to look at my favorite bar and find them that way instead of everything having the same font.
That gives me plenty of time to change my mind again, haha. What I've wanted from day 1 is a non-Apple, non-Chrome Haswell laptop with 7+ hours of battery life for 700 or under. I haven't had luck finding one yet.
I make mistakes and learn from them. You smother this board with suffocating arrogance and its nauseating beyond comprhension. Take your pillow fight with Nenni to the Walmart parking lot. Ignored.
You and Nenni both are a disgrace to all adults. Why don't you two trade emails and spend day and night hating each other. You are wasting our time.
I bet I don't, either. I also have another 800 bucks or so, net, after taking the MacBook Air back. Heck of a day ! Til next week.
Think I may go wit the Venue 8 Pro based on this guy's review:
I got my Miix 2 yesterday in the mail, to directly compare with my Dell Venue 8 Pro.
The Miix 2 made a better impression. It's slightly but noticeably lighter, the screen gets brighter and seems to have better color reproduction. But after that is where things kind of broke down.
1) The speaker is terrible. The Dell's is always loud and great without any distortion. The Lenovo's speaker is ridiculously quiet turned all the way up, and even then there was a little distortion too. Maybe it was a defective piece but it didn't sound bad enough to really justify that guess.
2) The screen doesn't get dim enough for usage in dark rooms. It's really frustrating - an important consideration for me.
3) The on-screen keyboard worked awfully. This is the first time I've ever seen this on any Windows 8/8.1 touch device. You know how the 8.1 touch keyboard has context menus for certain keys when you hold them long enough, to get accents or alternate characters? Those kept showing up.
Example: typing the word "This".
On the Dell, I can simply use three fingers in quick succession for t-h-i...and so on. Works perfectly.
On the Lenovo, no matter what I did, it kept thinking that I was holding the 't' key long enough to get the context menu, so then instead of 'h' the next character I typed was 'þ'
Maybe both a driver/firmware problems, but it doesn't really seem like it so far. I ended up returning the Miix 2 and will keep the Venue 8 Pro.
I'm torn. I've reviewed both and am ready to order. Thinking I should go with the Lenovo one. It comes with MS Office but the Dell one doesn't, right? What are your thoughts, Ashraf? What do you like about the Dell Venue over the Lenovo ?
I'm taking my new MacBook Air back and getting this. It will be the 2nd time I've taken the Air back. They will hate me. The Air is rough on my eyes. I get a headache every time I use it. This looks perfect.
