The problem with covered calls is that it clips the big breakouts..the breakouts are where u make
most of the money in your positions in the market. Covered calls executed by
amateurs will insure that you end up with a portfolio of only dogs. The only time this
strategy ever worked for goobers like you was back in the late 1960's, early 1970's ,
before all the big houses went to Black-Sholes.
I know a very hot soldering iron is burning you now as it goes up.
The future belongs...the future belongs...the future belongs to me!
You'll see no significant breakout until it becomes clear that earnings and revenues are going to start to grow again. I cannot predict that. For all I know Intel will have to sacrifice margins to establish a stronghold in mobile. That could postpone financial growth for an indefinite period. While I DO NOT subscribe to the Covello-Shah view of armageddon, you have to acknowledge where that is coming from: it represents the notion that Intel growth into mobile will be expensive and not necessarily all that lucrative. The smartphone chip market in tota is only about 10% of INTC total revenues, as I understand it. At what cost? The math makes me a little nervous about the new CEO and Presidemt...they seem obsessed with mobile, what may turn out to be a false premise. Ottelini's longer term "fundamentals" view made more sense to me. More like a respected company with standards rather than a "tabloid."
I believe the only true growth in E and R can come from the internet of everything and success of PC's-Desktops in the ultrabook era and demand for servers, which is predicted to grow well over 10% in coming years, . This is why INTC wants to launch internet video...to stimulate the demand for server bandwidth.
So...in guessing a high for the year we have to bet on hubris, or on the implications of
Haswell family for the core business. There's eternal drag on INTC stock pps.
So I'll go with $27 for the end of year...I'll have to buy back my January 2014 30's leaps.
My son , an avid apple fan for his whole post teen life, is now a professional...he now says the only serious computing is done on x86 based hardware. He is buying large Intel inside systems for his own company (for video editing). The PC-Desktop is a sedan or an SUV, while the tablet is a sportscar.
You'll never see one replace the other.
Tonner is a mindless parrot..."PC is Dead" what garbage. Motley Fool is utter excrement. No credentials at all. They post titles that make you think they may be objective, or even supportive of INTC, only to suck you in to the usual bashing balderdash. I wish there was a "super-ignore" feature for all Motley Fools articles.
I liked your pps projections for INTC, but thought they are probably way too wild. The rest of your post is that of a complete idiot, which completely discredits your pps projections.
well, we've got about 25 minutes left..where's that rally?
This may be setting up for another dog-pooped-in-your-front-yard close.
