Also WLT and CLF had good up moves. Question is WHY??? Many analysts believe WLT will bankrupt and that CLF will kill their dividend. Was today just a fluke? I think so. Coal socks are going lower. NRP too.
NRP dropped almost 5% last Tuesday. Five consecutive up days since. No fundamental changes that I have seen. We ARE getting closer to ex date.
Wyatt Hogan is presenting tomorrow morning (see headlines). Hope you have the time to tune in and then comment, jrad
Would add, poly, that if your comments in favor are strong enough to get jran to buy shares I will immediately cover all of my short positions become the strongest supporter of NRP on the planet.
Those public companies that lease from NRP lost $225 million in the first qtr of 2014. They will lose another $200 million in the second qtr. With no improvement in coal fundamentals over the short run, stock prices will drop. With no improvement long term, ALL will bankrupt INCLUDING THE LEASING COMPANY. Would like your reason (or reasons) for optimism, poly.
Big natural gas inventory build announced this morning. Inventories still significantly below a year ago (1,719bcu present vs 2,425bcf year ago). Also said that high temperatures around the country expected to reduce natural gas inventory build and expect $5 natural gas later this year. Heat index in my area is at 100 for the second day..
Believe jrad mentioned that Mr Cline's holdings(family included) could be as high as 10.5 million units.
I am an investor in NRP. Have owned more shares than most of the directors for more than three years.
I have seen the unit price drop for more than three years. Did not know why at the time when record earnings and revenue were being reported. I do know why unit price is dropping now and am sure that it will drop further. Will continue to "hold" at this time.
As I have said to others, suggest you "ignore" my comments if they bother you. I will appreciate the information that you post about NRP
Dow up, mixed day for most coal stocks and NRP crashed. Too many shares for sell and NO buyers. Mr. Cline is trying to sell 10.5 million shares and most of the big brokerage houses are trying to get out before quarter end. NRP shares are going much lower.
Dow up 29. Coal stocks mixed. NRP held near the 50 day moving average for several days. Now breaking down on above average volume. Going much lower. Would already be trading below $12 if Mr. Robertson had not recently bought 20,000 shares.
NRP holding just below 50 day moving average. Most other coal stocks trading near historic lows. Coal industry remains the most hated on the planet. Coal company shares going much lower (NRP too)
Did read the S/A article and it also represents my sentiments. More distribution cuts are coming if the coal markets (met and thermal) remains at current levels. No way to know what will drive improvement in demand and price but have to hope that ALL of the coal company leaders (CEOs) will not sit on their hands and watch their companies bankrupt. Mr Robertson's 20,000 share stock purchase was a real plus for me. Still believe that NRP share price will be between $10 and $15 in the short run. Turnaround is a few years out. Hope jrad will comment on the seeking alpha article.
Interesting discussion. In ten years we will have another billion people on the planet. Believe we will be using more coal world wide. Hope by then we will have some ceos who know how to make a profit with it. I know that they are using natural gas with recycled steel manufacturing. Did not know that they can now do it with converting iron ore to steel.
Holding near 50 day average. Will trade much lower. Fundamentals for coal get worse every day, especially met coal. wlt, clf and anr headed for bankruptcy unless met coal fundamentals improve. clf and anr lease properties from NRP.
