Dow down 48. Crude up slightly. Natural gas continues to dive. Headed to $2.50.
Most coal stocks trading within one or two pennies of a record low. NRP trading up on
heavy volume. Seeking Alpha contributor, Dan Carman,, likes NRP.
Certainly agree. jrad. One of my major reasons for purchasing NRP shares was
(and is) insider ownership. Also believe that if they bought shares last October
at $12, they should be loading up again at $4 today.
Obama, today, blaming the floods in Texas on coal (coal now defines climate change). Probably much
better to have the children of the world freeze to death than choke on coal emissions (the children
whose parents can't afford natural gas).
Heavy hitters still unloading shares of NRP. No bottom in sight. Thought a million share day would
take us under $4 today. Didn't happen but we will get there tomorrow.
Obama is still pounding coal. Today he blamed the floods in Texas on coal (coal now defines
Dow down 78. Crude and natural gas crashing. Coal stocks crashing. BTU, ACI, ANR and
NRP at record lows. NRP at record low on below average volume. If volume picks up, NRP
shares will trade below $4. Six months ago Mr Corbin Robertson paid $12.02 each for one
quarter million shares. Seems like he would be buying again with shares at $4. He is not
showing much confidence in the future of NRP.
Absolutely correct, lenny, but the morons who run the US coal companies (ie Gregory Boyce)
don't know how to make a profit for their company with record coal consumption. As I have said
for years, FIRE GREGORY BOYCE AND BRING IN SOMEONE WITH FRESH IDEAS. Can't
do worse than Boyce. He is taking us into bankruptcy.
The shares of three big coal companies trading around 50 cents (ACI, ANR and WLT). BTU headed for $3 and
over the week end Obama was trying to convince us that coal is the biggest problem facing the world today.
Probably need old Gregory Boyce to start begging again. That has been his strategy for the past four
years.. Someone needs to remind him that it isn't working. Every news media and analyst is now
forecasting the demise of coal. Looks like it will come to pass!
Dow up 96. Crude and natural gas near unchanged. ALL coal stocks remain at or near record lows.
NRP trading 2 cents above record low on low volume. If volume picks up share price will continue
to crash. No bottom in sight.
New record low today on big volume. Eighty thousand shares traded at the close
today (down tick). Might find support somewhere below $4. Need improvement in thermal and
met coal fundamentals. Big talk now from analysts like GS about bankruptcies for
BTU, ACI and ANR (Wlt won't be far behind). NO BOTTOM IN SIGHT FOR SHARES OF NRP.
The problem, lenny, is that in 2014 the world used 9 billion tons of coal (a record).
BTU lost almost half a billion dollars. Gregory Boyce doesn't know how to make
money with record coal usage. What will he do to make BTU profitable? World
wide coal usage is not likely to increase.
Here's what happened today:
1. Jim Cramer continued his daily slaughter of coal on CNBC this morning..
2. ACI has hired an adviser to "explore restructuring multi billion dollar debt"..
3. ANR shutting mines in Appalachia.
4. BTU, ACI, ANR, ARLP and NRP trading at record lows.
5. Coal is being blamed for droughts, floods and any other bad weather issue.
6. Over the week end Obama continued his global warming vendetta.
TOO LATE TO SAVE COAL!!
Dow down 130. Big move down for crude and natural gas. Coal news as follows:
1. BTU, ACI, ANR, ARLP AND NRP trading at record lows.
2. ACI exploring ways to decrease multi billion dollar debt without bankrupting. Don't know
how they can do that.
3. ANR shutting mines in Appalachia.
4. Zacks has upgraded shares of NRP from #4 sell to hold.
Agree with your comment about lack of information. Would like to know
what happens with the Patriot business now that Patriot is again in
bankruptcy. Also what happens when ACI and ANR bankrupt? Also,
they don't even mention anymore the 11 million acres of land for which
NRP has mineral rights.
Believe your $3.50 bottom for NRP's share price is about right.
As always, jrad, I appreciate your contribution to this board. Hope
you have a great Memorial Day week end.
Note comments from Marry Energy's CEO. More bankruptcies and layoffs
ahead. ANR announced more layoffs today. ALL coal company stocks
closed today within pennies of a record low. ACI, ANR, and WLT will
bankrupt soon. BTU just a little further out.
ALL of the coal stocks are now within pennies of a record low share price.
Murray Energy CEO today laid out the future, more layoffs and bankruptcies..
As a matter of fact, ANR announced more layoffs this afternoon., ACI,, ANR
And WLT will soon follow Patriot Coal into bankruptcy. BTU will not survive
either. I put NRP"s chance of survival at about 50%. Watch insider trading.
If they do not soon start to buy, means that the chance of failure.increases
