Good analogy. Bill Gross was a genius but like Davis, became very eccentric as he got older. Both started making bad decisions later in career. Truth is, some current PIMCO fund mgrs have far out-performed Bill recently. And yet, many investors are bailing out to join Bill at Janis. How ironic. PHK & other Pimco funds being hit hard and in a stampede herd mentality. Typical wall street, little sense and lots of irrational emotions. Also, shorts jumping on this too and taking advantage of situation.. Appears Bill Gross became such a disruptive figure at Pimco and living on past reputation and when dust settles, Pimco & investors (those left) will be better off. Would I invest with Janus right now...no thanks regardless of who is managing the fund.Re PHK, it was always well above NAV so a large hit was to be expected. As long as they continue the dividends, I'd hang in their.

Mr Gross was once the ultimate bond genius but the last few years, he made bad decisions and his managed funds under-performed. Also, recently other fund managers at Pimco out performed him. Some PIMCO closed end bond funds ( not phk) are now well below NAV and are "buys". I believe those selling their PIMCO funds at these lower prices ( those below NAV) are making a mistake and following Bill Gross to Janus also a mistake. Dark glassed Justin Bieber Gross is not what he used to be and maybe is in his second childhood days at 70 years old. We'll see. egardless, some of the remaining PIMCO fund managers will do just fine and the rein of terror at PIMCO is now over. Now "we", not me or "look at me" me, me left with Bill.
