She's making her 10s of $millions regardless. her business plan is now to take on Intel as a "second source" because the industry wants it. Losing proposition.
INTC getting crushed in pre-market. Forget about $40 anytime soon. I need to rethink my long position. I'd rather see the cash being used for dividend increases. Intel already owns near 100% of the server market & that wont change for the next 5 years, deal or not. This deal helps Intel execs & lawyers only, not shareholders.
Intel needs help with mobile. The CEO is literally wasting $B's of shareholder money each month. Whats the strategy there??
I think it was a waste of $16B personally. CFO has done a horrible job in terms of improving shareholder wealth in this historic time of low rates. Looks like the free lunch is over as rates will climb 2% in the next year or so. CFO wasted a golden opportunity.
Hopefully, we'll see 10-20K cuts across the board. Its about time Intel management right-sized the company based on growth prospects. Us big shareholders deserve it.
Intel needs to layoff between 20-40K employees to rightsize based on growth projections. Stock would jump as a result. Big shareholders like myself deserve this & are expecting this. Way too much fat at Intel. Its turned into IBM.
Windows 10 is getting some poor early reviews. The new CEO is just as bad as Ballmer, imo. He's trying to create a Windows "ecosystem" at all costs even though its a losing battle & is focusing all the innovation on the mobile side & nothing on the desktop side. Looks like servers is the only growth area for Intel, but now AMD is ready to attack them again, which will lower margins.
he's done a lousy job, imo, especially in this low-rate, low-growth environment the past 5 years. He could have done so much more financial engineering. Also, the company is clearly over-sized with respect to growth rates. Hiring people while not growing sales at all. Expect massive 20-30K layoff announced soon. Losing $Bs in mobile every quarter is also unacceptable. No such thing as accountability at Intel it seems. Lousy leadership at almost every position.
China is literally in a freefall, yet we're worried about Greece. Dollar is stronger & will get stronger. PC sales are plummeting per Micron. And, of course, Intel is losing billions in mobile with no end in sight. The question is how much if the miss is factored in the price. I'm afraid we'll test $28 soon. Where are the massive layoffs Mr. CFO??
This is the latest rumor. It would be a major blow to Intel if true. Microsoft has a HUGE cloud business & if they leveraged AMD chips instead of Intel chips in cloud servers, all HELL would break loose. Servers are the ONLY reason people are investing in Intel.
Its pretty scary to think she almost got the CEO job. Apparently, her "claim to fame" was botching up the Software division. She was the "brain child" behind the $8B acquisition of McAfee. A total waste of $$ and effort. Expect a huge write-down soon. Time for the clueless CFO to go too. It's time for Intel to get rid of the Board and bring in a new culture of innovation. Right now, Intel is the new IBM.
Inexcusable that the top execs are cashing in on their free options while shareholders suffer because of their incompetence. What exactly is Intel's mobile strategy?? Let shareholders know NOW. Time for the Board to be replaced. We need a big fish external stakeholder to make a stink & shake things up publicly.
Intel warned on China, consumer PCs & strong dollar a few months ago. Things have turned dramatically worse in China & PCs since then.. Expect a slight miss, but its the forecast that may drive the stock below $28. Intel's only growth market is servers & I doubt that will make up for massive negative macro trends. Plus, servers are moving more towards a cloud-based model, which limits Intel's upside. Personally, I'm surprised Intel hasnt warned for Q2. They still might.
The market is about to start a major correction, 15-20%, based on China and European events and uncertainty. No wonder Intel exec weasels just cashed out their shares. Unethical to say the least.
WTH is going on with Intel? Where is the innovation? Why aren't they sharing this with the investor community? They need to stop being so secretive & start bragging. The perception is that Intel engineering (both design & process) has been lagging the past few years. We need an Activist to shake up the culture.
