Not hearing many good things about these products. Instead, consumers & OEMs are flocking to Google's chromebook products to get the "merged" tablet + laptop experience. Even though Intel chips appear in some chromebook models, the tradeoff is net loss for Intel. Expect Intel ASPs to go down significantly.
No excuses. Intel moved much too slowly to ensure socket wins on Android-based devices. No surprise that 2014 is looking like another bust.
Nice job on Merrifield MIA. Who is Intel trying to fool? Something is seriously wrong with Intel's mobile plans & they have not been forthcoming in disclosing this info to shareholders.
Its game over. Qualcomm has too much of an ecosystem established for Intel to overcome. We can thank Paul O. for this failure.
As my model predicted, INTC failed 3 or 4 times in terms of breaking resistance at $26. The last one after earnings was the back-breaker i'm afraid.
Brian K. tries to pull off a Steve Jobs "visionary" type of presentation & looked foolish. Brian K. - you are a manufacturing guy. Stick to the nuts & bolts & give us some tangible roadmaps to growth. Not pie-in-the-sky visions & "no conflict" nonsense.
Calls out Intel. IMO, the only thing that will move INTC up in the short-term is massive cost-cutting like HP did when it was trading at $12. The revenue structure is totally mis-aligned with the cost structure. Hey Brian K., if you're really trying to max shareholder value, cut about 20% levels of employees/employees not carrying their weight.
Intel's mobile strategy & execution has been a BUST, plain-and-simple. It will be years before there is any positive material impact on Intel's business. Hurting more than helping right now. The fact there has been no dividend increases approaching 2 years is noteworthy.
Most of the hedge funds & big-boy option traders are placing big bullish bets. Sentiment has done a 180-degree turn - PCs have bottomed, Intel will be in tablets & smartphones in a big way in 2014, etc. My model says a breakout past 52-week highs towards 30, probably if Intel announces the Nexus win in a few weeks at CES. Ashraf has really done a great job changing sentiment - Intel should hire him!
$24 & $22 are the next 2 major support levels. If Brian K. has bad news next week, we could easily break both levels.
