Brian K. clearly not making change happen soon enough. I also call into question his growth strategy. Cant believe the BoD picked a manufacturing guy to lead Intel in these very disruptive times. This is the time for an innovative leader.
INTC getting crushed while AMD, NVidia, ARMH, MU all near break-out highs. Brian K. better have some good news next week. if he gives his status quo - flat revenues, flat/down margins & ASPs, high Cap Ex expenses, no layoffs - this stock will be back in the low 20s.
Brian K. doesnt seem like he knows what he's doing. He needs to be forming partnerships to help Intel get into the mobile market. Instead, he's making these pie-in-the-sky plans that will probably never amount to much (perceptual computing, 3D printing, etc.). Meanwhile, Intel design teams are falling further behind in SOC. Mistake hiring. Need an external CEO who can make change happen.
Nice job on Merrifield MIA. Who is Intel trying to fool? Something is seriously wrong with Intel's mobile plans & they have not been forthcoming in disclosing this info to shareholders.
Intel looks foolish with all this perceptual computing. They present it as if they are the leader. The fact of the matter is companies like Google, IBM, Cisco & Apple are way ahead of them in terms of big data & sensor technology. This company's arrogance is its downfall.
Brian K. tries to pull off a Steve Jobs "visionary" type of presentation & looked foolish. Brian K. - you are a manufacturing guy. Stick to the nuts & bolts & give us some tangible roadmaps to growth. Not pie-in-the-sky visions & "no conflict" nonsense.
Implications for Intel are not good. I predict Intel will guide margins down next week as ASPs are crashing.
Underwhelming to say the least. Intel & Brian k. shouldnt have even bothered to show-up. Inexcusable that this is the only thing Intel has to show for its multi-year mobile efforts.
A Clover Trail chip again...Are you f#*#*ng kidding me!! This is a bunch of garbage. Looks like Intel can only compete in the very low end of mobile....Sad & embarrassing state-of-affairs.
Brian K. looks to be a HUGE mistake. Bringing in a manuf. guy to lead the way, while its clear that Intel is being outdesigned by its more experienced competitors. It must suck being an Intel designer trying to figure out SOC right now. Internal Intel is a mess.
This is not good for Intel. Intel spent much of the shareholder's wealth the past 10 years trying to kill AMD & AMD is just as strong as ever. Terrible Intel management.
Smith had done a terrible job as CFO. No accountability to shareholders with over-paid acquisitions. And where is the cost-cutting? Intel has done nothing to control costs while revenues have plummeted with "flat growth" at best. Intel should be announcing mass layoffs to appease shareholders. Finally, he should have been much more aggressive issuing debt at record low levels to retire shares & increase the dividend.
No excuses. Intel moved much too slowly to ensure socket wins on Android-based devices. No surprise that 2014 is looking like another bust.
