Taser shares were up 6.8% in the stock market today, nearly recovering from steep losses in late February. Shares of Digital Ally (NASDAQ:DGLY), another body camera maker, surged 13%. GoPro (NASDAQ:GPRO), whose action cameras have been used by police, was up 2.6%.

"They've got the volumes that would allow them to drop the overall price of the product," Enderle told Benzinga. "On the other hand, GoPro doesn't have the reputation of being the kind of camera you can depend on in this kind of situation. They're not in the military/law enforcement area yet."
A police shooting in North Charleston, South Carolina, captured on a smartphone video, may have put investors in mind of GoPro's action cameras.
