If the deal happens at or near 41 there will be an initial pop and then gradual upside as the synergies of the deal are recognized.
If the pot is sweetened to 43, there will be more selling and shorting by the arbs, perhaps expecting another bump. If there is a deal, the stock will bottom and rise as the world economies grow and there is a greater need of their product.
If POT walks away, there will be a pop into the low 30's.
In my view, the shorts waited until after the dividend was issued so they did not have to pay it.
They are not considering the high dividend which will prevent it from continuing to go down and they will have to pay if they hold for 3 months, that the world seems now to be in recovery mode, and that two out of three scenarios above will force them to cover and the one that helps them has limited benefit.

Something like 41 shares traded at the higher amount. Seems like they are making their own news. Bogus. Although there was apparently a reiteration of a buy by UBS.

  • JBLU announced an agreement with GS for a 150 mil or so stock repurchase. It will have to pay more if the stock price goes up. Why are they doing it this way? The announcement has already upped the price in the premarket. JBLU will have to pay more if the average share price goes up over the term of the ASR which is apparently short{not disclosed}. Does the company want to drive up the price and get less shares for its money or pay more than it would have had it purchased on the open market and announced later. Unless i am missing something, this seems to be pure stupidity since the company will pay more for less shares. Or are there insiders that will sell their stock into the bumped up price at the expense of the company?
