  • darren wilson said that the thug... sorry michael was running away from the officer when the thug was shot. now we find out that the thug was hit not in the back but in his front. so now they will probably claiming he was running backwards trying to get away from the officer.

I may have been wrong with my last post. It may not be the same michael brown connected to the ferguson story. I am like the other want-to-be-reportors I did a copy and paste and ran with the story. Not good! Hopefully the truth will prevail.

  • If this is true it proves that michael brown was a thug.

  • American Apparel's Provocative Back To School Ads Are Igniting Fury

By Alyson Penn 19 hours ago
American Apparel is facing heat for a provocative back-to-school campaign in the U.K.
The retailer published photos online that showed models leaning over in plaid, schoolgirl-style skirts.
The photos, some of which have been removed, ignited a firestorm among shoppers.
One Twitter user posted the photo and wrote they were fueling "Lolita fantasies and rampant sexism a plenty."
    Other Twitter users chimed in:
No way....that is so cliched...I feel a mixture of defiled, sad and let down @VagendaMagazine @anygirlfriday very child prostitute
    — rebecca pearson (@rebeccapearson) August 7, 2014
@anygirlfriday this is really very dangerous and wrong!!!
    — daftmamma (@Angeline1611) August 7, 2014
@VagendaMagazine @anygirlfriday how can a society that so publicly reviles peadophiles just allow this sort of advertising! #doublestandard
    — Joanne Foy (@jojolafoy) August 7, 2014
American Apparel hasn't commented on the photos. We've reached out to the retailer and will update when we hear back.
This isn't the first scandal to rock the retailer.
In June, CEO Dov Charney was fired, stemming from long-time allegations of sexual harassment of employees.
They've also had ads banned in the U.K. for being too suggestive.

What’s the difference between the two?

Well APP didn't show up in the link comparison.

  • The answer is/was Charney as Boss Man..;range=1y

  • balsski balsski Jul 30, 2014 12:54 PM Flag

It pains me to admit this but the WTSL website is far better than the APP site with better pricing and I don't see models with their pubs showing.
If you check out APP on Google and click on images and scroll down you'll know what I am talking (pubs) about. This charney is a sicko.

  • Great article Robin Lewis

Charney just keeps hanging on. He must have something on the other board members... they are not able to completely get rid of him.

88 I gave you a thumbs down but agree with much of what you stated. Now that Dov had his needle and thread taken away from him and the new management and BOD team at the helm with their Singer machines that will soon be humming right along with a total revamp of the APP clothing line, stores and website. This has to be done.
This Company is in bad shape, it has to get better.

  • Five Seconds of Summer (5SOS) was on Jimmy Kimmel show last night singing the phrases of American Apparel underwear to throngs of young girls. I wouldn’t be surprised that if after the show these young girls ran to their nearest APP store to pick up their undies that the young Australian lads sang of.
We still need to clean up our trashy website.

    RadioShack has not done very well under the leadership of Mr. Joseph Magnacca over the last year so…. So why is he on our BOD???? Politics plain and simple,;range=1y;compare=;indicator=volume;charttype=area;crosshair=on;ohlcvalues=0;logscale=off;source=;

... Is nothing but OLD NEWS. SA is known for their plagiarism.

  • … sort of.
5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) pop-punk band has a song out that has words in their song like “She looks so perfect standing there in my American Apparel underwear.”
"If for some reason you haven't heard the breakout single by rising pop-punk band 5 Seconds of Summer you should get The Australian quintet's "She Looks So Perfect" (listen below) is already a Top 25 hit and their debut EP hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200, all helping the guys secure a One Direction-esque buzz ahead of their debut full-length.
With its near-perfect hook inspired by American Apparel's famous undies, "She Looks So Perfect" had fans curious as to whether the trendy clothing brand would be upset for using their namesake. When Fuse talked to the band in April, bassist Calum Hood said that American American hadn't responded to the song or any type of co-sign. "There's been no free underwear," the 18-year-old said. "Which is sad because we're running out on tour."
There is more to the article if you Google it.

  • There is going to be a much needed IMPROVEMENT in the WEBSITE along with other good changes.
"The hedge fund also will nominate three candidates to the retailer's new board and intends to give Glazek one of the spots, the source said.

Glazek said he is optimistic that simple changes can help turn around the retailer, including opening more stores and improving its website.

"The American Apparel e-commerce platform is so antiquated that you don't need much to really improve it," said Glazek."

Hey, believe it or not I am in for the long term and don't plan on selling for sometime. All I was saying is that the article was a scathing article about charney's leadership of the Company. Allan Mayer was on Bloomberg about a week ago and this guy seems like a very sensible guy that can take the Company forward.
