No mention of buy backs. Also, expect to end year with 30 million shares. This would appear to mean they will not buy back stock in open market this year.Am i right in this assumption. Moreover, weak 4th quarter guidance, but expect growth to resume in 1st quarter 2014.Looks like mixed bad.Very good 3rd quarter results, but weak 4th quarter and no buy back mentioned.
Silly How can you possibly justify holding 90% of your holdings in IMOS which you say is a buy at $8,a hold at $12, and a sell at $16. You are either lying about your concentrated holdings in IMOS,or you do not honestly believe IMOS is a sell at $16. Now,why don't you tell the board which is correct.
Turt You were not alone.I also did some buying in the $15.50 to $16.50 area. At those prices IMOS appeared to present an outstanding buying opportunity. Indeed, I had to totally disregard Silly's advice that IMOS was a sell at $16.
Caff Torry is a trader while most long term holders of IMOS are investors. We are willing to be patient and let a good value stock reach its fair value instead of seeking instant gratification.Silly is,well, just plain silly.
Johnboy That can't be right.Didn't Silly say IMOS was a sell at $16.Now,who are you going to rely on,Silly,or one of the best value investors of our time in making investment decisions.
Silly I second caff's opinion of you.Further,i am confident that if you had bought IMOS at $16 you would eventually make more money, with less risk, then any other holding in your portfolio,if indeed you have a portfolio.
It appears to me that IMOS shareholders are much more reluctant to part with their shares at these levels. This is quite understandable given the catalysts in our immediate future plus the fact IMOs is selling well below fair value.Perhaps the IMOS flight is getting close to take off.
Obviously very disappointing revenue numbers.Helps account for the recent stock weakness notwithstanding a rather bullish market.
torry You sound like a short term trader willing to pay regular income tax on your short term gains.Others here,me included, would much prefer to hold stocks for long term gains and only pay the capital gains tax.IMOS may turn out to be like a good wine in that it takes time to mature and reach its peak.
Johnboy I will follow your advice and no longer respond to Silly. As to football,Bama has some good teams they must beat to get to the BCS game.If they do,Florida State against Bama would be a great game. They are very similar in that Jimbo Fisher, the head coach at Fla.St.. was Saban's offensive coordinator at LSU when Saban coached there.Oregon is very good and would present a contrasting offensive style. Bama has LSU this Sat.Oregon has Stanford on Thursday night. Florida State does not appear to have a tough road to an undefeated season.Should be interesting how it all plays out.
My last response to you Silly. If IMOS is a sell at $16,why oh why do you still hold your shares. The last time i looked,Imos was over $16.This is yet another one of your typical inane posts.
Because you are apparently so dissatisfied with the performance of IMOS, why have you not already sold your shares and purchased the stocks you mention. That may give you instant gratification and make more sense for you.If you did that Silly, this board would probably be rid of your inane posts.Incidentally, i hold one of the stocks you mentioned, having acquired shares at much lower levels.
May i have your attention IMOS shareholders. Please fasten your seat belts because we will be taking off very shortly. We expect to reach an altitude of 20 rather quickly. From there,if conditions prove favorable,we expect to ascend to an altitude of 25 and eventually level off between 30 and 35.Silly,do you still have your ticket or have you decided to take another flight? Welcome aboard and enjoy the IMOS ride.
Caff Do they expect them to complete the buy back's before they embark on a road show which, presumably, is designed to boast the stock price.
Caff If Imos can report earnings of $2.40-$2.50 next year, and if they pay out 40 or 50% of that as a dividend, then a $30 plus stock price is very possible.
