After learning from experience that the "lifetime Warranty" promoted by many dealers in Florida to be worthless for a wheel bearing clearly a part covered as part of the drive train, I am disappointed that Toyota allows dealers to tarnish the Toyota reputation by using a worthless gimmick in marketing. Anyone know why Toyota is ignoring this misleading activity?
A very serious item that is being sold on eBay by many sellers and sourced through Alibaba is counterfeit bearings. These range from automotive wheel bearings to engine and other. They are of poor quality and are creating a safety hazard to the buyers and others on the highway. True Koyo bearings are used on many new vehicles and are of the highest quality and reputation. Most of the Koyo bearings being sold on eBay are poor quality counterfeits. The reputation that eBay is developing for counterfeit items is driving many of us away.
Sorry to inform you that counterfeit Timken bearings are being sold that are made in China. Just check Alibaba, the source of many sellers on eBay. Genuine Timken are great bearings, the counterfeit are not so.
Reported some of the high risk counterfeit items to eBay some time back and they are still being sold. What confidence can a person have in items being sold if nothing is being done to prevent the proliferation of counterfeit items.
