tiglet21 ... don't take offense, its not directed at you... but I could give a DAMM what people think of my posts or ideas... I'm all about doing the right thing, making that money. Buying ANY Kinder Morgan company is good... and I have 700 shares of KMP that kicked down good divys. ... I just want KMI to succeed now because Im long and strong!!! :)
I see it not as a broken stock rather instead a great opportunity to buy at a discount... if the over all market can muster a rally through the end of the year... and this deal gets done.. look for KMI to be recommended, bought and moving higher! ... right now a TON of confused investors don't know what is going to happen.. income investors are TiCkED they are losing the MLP status ... so your getting downward pressure on the stock.. I think that's lifted once the deal is done. -- I'm not selling and in fact will be buying more of KMI down here
The Board of Directors of 3M (MMM) today declared a dividend on the company’s common stock of 85.5 cents per share for the third quarter of 2014, payable Sept. 12, 2014, to shareholders of record at the close of business on Aug. 22, 2014. 3M has paid dividends to its shareholders without interruption for 98 years.
Please post if you know.. thanks
I'm long and actually play PNNT's dips. I recently bought at 10.60 and had every intention of selling today at 11.8x ... my goal was to get 1pt... got a little greedy and here we are. Not happy but am LONG PNNT like many of you and love the stock for its dividend. ... here's why I think it falls to 11.10. ... GARS recently offered a secondary (i know, only 2 million share but) and fell from its current price -7% ... from 15.05 to 14.11 ... GARS has since rallied back to over 14.76 and going higher. ... I like PNNT to do the same. ... So I'm in no rush to buy right here.. but will look to add another 1K shares if I can get near my 11.10 price. Good luck.. just an idea folks...
Give me a little room here to explain... my KMP cost is $77 ... when this deal gets done and if KMI is at $40 ... I get 2 KMI shares + $10.77 in cash ... my value for the deal is $80 + the $10.77 which basically = $90.77 after I hand over my KMP share (for 1 share I get the $40x2+10.77=90.77) .... so wouldn't it be smart to SELL KMP... collect the $95 which basically is $4.33 MORE then if I wait??? Am I even close with this idea? Thanks and pls don't flame me.. just trying to figure this out (the $40 KMI price comes from what I read that the deal is based off 40)
Greetings! ... I currently own 700 shares of KMP @ 73. I have about $75K to invest and want your opinion .. do I pick up KMP or KMI here? I'm not sure about KMR at all but if have something to offer please share.. I read every reply. Thanks!
I'm not sure where your coming from with that statement.. do you only invest in tax-free stuff because I pay taxes on ALL of my dividend paying stocks and expect a capitol gains bill at the end of the year ... do you NOT pay capitol gains taxes on your investments? Not to get in the mud here but your reply to my comment makes it sound like were all tax free all the time. I understand the $10.7 in cash will be taxed. I understand the dividend will be taxed ... I ask again, are you NOT paying taxing because this is pretty normal in my world.
HUH? All I know is I get $10.7 a share when this thing completes. I own KMP at $73 so this run up to over $95 is ALL gravy to me... I get 2.1x shares of KMI that will still have a $4.xx annual dividend ... you were saying???
When you have an audience like Yahoo.. your articles get read. With SA deciding to not pay the huge fee for 'eye balls'.. SA articles don't get read and don't have the same impact. (in my opinion)
All those seeking alpha oil trust short hit pieces wont get seen anymore... love that!!
From an email this morning
"I wanted to update you that Seeking Alpha headlines no longer appear in Yahoo finance"
Thanks Greg ... so the 'on-record' date is for people that didn't have the stock on Ex-Date ... yet still want the divy? Sorta, last chance? ... again, thanks
Hi folks ... I've not paid attention to this because I usually hold my positions regardless of dividend dates... but I was asked and wiki'd it and am still a bit confused. When is a company (say Kinder in this example) obligated to pay me its dividend? It is (if I'm holding) after the Ex-Date? (as in I could sell today and still get the divy) or do you have to be "on record" to get the divy? Also, I was asked... once these dates pass, can I then sell but still get the divy? Thanks in advance
I bought right before the close.. still happy with my big purchase back at 74 ... Im long term and loving those cash payouts!
I agree.. this run from 11.x to the current 12.7x is a retrace. I see Z headed back near 13.7x but div announcement... we really need to thank these Seeking Alpha short articles.. it gave us a golden opportunity at 11.5x ... where I was once scorn, I'm very pleased because I bought more. (now long 3000 shares)
he basically gave us what we ALL know (through our due diligence) a great opportunity in the mid $11's ... what they price action now and as these hack pieces come just wait a bit, then BUY LOW ... they may be able to manipulate the prices short term... but longer term we make out. (yes, I've changed my opinion on this because I did buy low this time and am benefiting from it)
Since writing this post I'm convinced his numbers were wrong and the arguments many have made that WHZ should be trading higher are spot on... I purchased another 2,000 shares and will ride this back UP into the next dividend cycle ... which if my predictions of 0.85 is right... my total position becomes profitable and can decide to either stay the course or move on. Thanks folks!
