Excellent believable scenario. This occurred to a small San Francisco biotech I was heavily invested in. A large international pharmaceutical company
which had a product undergoing FDA testing let the small private biotech which grew its cell line go bankrupt then picked up this essential partner in its FDA process at fire sale prices. Actually all they paid were big bonuses for the staff of the small biotech to stay on after the bankruptcy. Only the name changed over the door.So happy ATHX raised new capital at better terms than before. Long-term ATHX investor
1.stockmarket is projected to be down till next yr because overhang congress debacle.
2.what will athx 3rd qrt earnings report be? Positive or negative?
3.should we sell on ups and buy on dips till after christmas?
4.why is this the wrong strategy for the ordinary long investor?
Macro world, will Govt. stalemate affect the price of ATHX. My guess is that it will go down, then up in the near term about 40% for the LT investor. In the interim, consult your favorite "believe or be damned" oracle. JMHO
If the $70s are in the cards and ATHX is funded well enough to last
through FDA II tests and arrive at dramatic results,
why not let the price drop. Who cares in the mean term. I do not
believe management cares a hoot.
$1.5/shares would be a terrific bargain
while still holding onto my original ATHX.
