What does FB have to do with bank rates? That is a primary reason for my purchase in the first place. . . There is no assembly line.
"The debate among analysts – all of whom largely look at the same financial models – suggests enough restraint and enthusiasm exists among stock investors to propel Facebook higher on a good earnings report. If analysts were universally in agreement on Facebook’s earnings, the stock would lack the proverbial wall of worry stocks need to sustain advances."
My worst trade was Digital Lightwave. I called the company when it was about 32 to see if everything was okay. That wasn't too naive, was it? Trading just seemed off, and they were reassuring, but rather glum. That was actually the top. The next day it turned around and didn't stop falling. One day it fell so fast that I stopped breathing, passed out and cracked the back of my head on the granite floor. Emergency was called to revive me. The stock fared worse.
ENE happened shortly after the family moved to TX. Watching on TV the employees stream out of the building is still imprinted on the memory.
FB has not been my best trade maybe, but the most lucrative. I hope we all get out by choice.
so good that he does not rec buying before ER.
Ho hum. MACD stall action might test sentiment on the way to triple digits. Watching accounts burst at the seams is embarrassing, too, and best left to folks/fools who just don't care.
On my watchlist, FB usually trades with conservative movers. If it didn't do anything for 5 months that would not be a surprise. Hopefully, there's not a market selloff where margin just ruins this run. I look forward to Facebook elections overtaking news to cement gains and stay the course..
You say "normal PE".
Getting FB from the IPO stage onto a major index had a particular set of problems. A new category of stock needed to be created first of all and that delayed acceptance. Then the usual metrics for valuation had to be modified and some of the metrics, such as PE, were devalued or set aside. As social media has gotten absorbed into the market mainstream maybe readjustments for metrics has been ongoing. The point is, feathers are not ruffled so easily with daunting PE numbers because is it a useful metric anyway?
