Just a sense of 'Feeling" talking to management and a board member over the years.....Putting that aside you know the real money is made by selling the company. They have built a very nice package of assets that are worth a lot more than the stock price.
bubba, great news, the key is who they bring in. The fact they will be keeping Mark on for one year relating to Mt Emmons is also very positive, shows they are very serious about divesting Mt Emmons..........You know I truly believe Us Energy will be bought out in the next year or two......I also believe some of the board members are positioning the company for a takeover. (at the right price) The next 2 months should be very interesting.
oilly, very doubtful or never will useg becoming a mining company even if they have the money (see now I am using the word never). As for the environmental liability a Federal land exchange would resolve that issue. Again all mining and oil drilling have environmental liability......They had a uranium mill and uranium properties that they sold for over 100 million with the same environmental liability.........Lest take it to the next step, it cost about 2 million a year to move forward with the EIS and maintaining the water treatment plant. Question is to investors, if you believe within the next 2 years useg will come up with some type of deal concerning Mt Emmons. I believe it will.
oilly, disagree with you completely. Years back I was in Gunnission County and had the pleasure or not of having a conversation with one of the leaders of hcca at that time. Totally impossible, never will happen was some of the words used to at that time explain why a plan of operations will not be approved.....Point I am making is Kobex took a risk, Thompson Creek took over a 25 million dollar risk with a lot less on the table. All mining is environmental risk and as the EIS goes forward on a positive note another foreign or domestic company will step in. Secretly I believe the good politicians in the area actually want a mine, good for the local economy. Otherwise offer useg something if they are really so much against it...
bubba, I respect your opinion, management did divest of the plane and apartments. There is NO doubt in me that management is looking to divest itself from Mt Emmons. They have held several meetings with Crested Butte officials and environmentalist. Local politicians and environmentalists came up with 0, nothing, Nada, give back the mountain and pay forever the water treatment plant was their response. The company is moving forward with permitting and depending on the future price of moly should see another partner or deal. Remember Mt emmons has high grade moly which sells for more. Crested Butte is going to be kicking itself in the butt for not coming up with any reasonable offer for Mt Emmons while there still is time. The company will get another partner and if you can hold on for another 6 months to a year, you will be rewarded.
As a investor I can understand you having a hard on for useg ( family Management). Call it luck, whatever, they did hit some very nice Buda wells and hopefully 3rd quarter should see some nice numbers. Hey I was in and out of Thompson Creek and bought back in at 5, now its at 3. One never knows........Management did divest itself of the plane and apartments and will divest or work out a deal on the mine again. I visit gunnison county once every 2 years now, believe me the average person in gunnisson and crested butte really does not care about a mine being built.
On the other side you did post false numbers about the water treatment plant and permitting costing 10 million a year and you seem obsessed with Mt Emmons even though you knew it existed when you bought useg stock......There are many concerns that you can bring up about management, I feel Mt emmons is not one of them. ....Boolean wrote a interesting post about commodities, if one follows what he wrote Mt Emmons should be worth a fortune in the coming years.
There is no risk factor with Mt Emmons. Commodities prices fluctuate. You buy a oil stock and the price of oil can decline or appreciate. Same thing with molybdenum. If you believe the price of moly will stay below 17 dollars forever, don`t buy useg stock, very simple. Main risk factor in the past was water rights and NO plan of operations approved. Useg has the water rights and plan of operations has been approved. Environmental concerns have been addressed, that is why the water treatment plant is there............Again as some posters say, it all comes down to the bottom line, where do you see the price of molybdenum going.
real, see this is the problem I am having. Ed who is credible, values the Bakken at 80 to 100 million max. Forget about the moly mine. Now what is the rest of the company worth? That is the tricky part. When boolean says the stock does n`t look good, I am buying on what I feel the assets worth. Very little volume for a company with 30 million shares. Like to hear from investors what they feel the oil and gas is worth.
bubba, I am impressed you seem to like the presentation, bottom line do you like the numbers going forward. Can this be the catalyst investors are looking for? We should have some more numbers coming out in the next week or two.
Why is it hard to believe its dipping again. Low volume, no real floor. Big investors want to see some real growth and that won`t happen until 3rd quarter. I added more shares at 4 and will add again " when it drops below 4"......Investor relations is doing a great job at getting the story out. ( I am being sarcastic )
If you knew Keith like I know Keith you would know that retail investors and share price are not on his mind. You get no respect. ( quoting Rodney Dangerfield ). Quarterly conference calls are more of an annoyance. Just for show. Keith is looking for the fund investor or someone that will take a long term view and purchase maybe 200,000 shares or more. Not looking for the day trader or the in and out. Volume tells the whole story. I am adding under 4, company finally shows strong growth that I am betting on for the third quarter. So as one investor posted " dial my calender forward 3 months and see what happens then"........Its not even a crap shoot, you have the numbers going forward.
westcost, buddy what happened are you still waiting to buy in. West what do you think the price will be tomorrow. Should we wait or get in now or is the MM still playing games. Thanks in advance, BL
west, you seem fixated on under 4. So what its 4.09 yes it can go under 4, so lets say it goes to 3.85 so what. You have a 50/50 chance what is the significance of your statement.
Of course, but the key is useg very rarely puts in 2 good trading days in a row. If this happens I might add more at the higher price.
How a small amount of shares ( over 250, 000) in the last hour moves this stock over 7 percent. Once again the retail investor is bought out. Like to know who is accumulating this amount. Did they get a deal . ???
chegerar, I believe the die has been cast. Unfortunately Keith has given into the radical greens. Once the V-Cup gets going most likely they will throw Keith a bone, 20, 25, 30 million to save face and mt emmons will go back to the Federal govt. Other investors and myself would like to see Useg hold onto it and wait for a bigger payday. Reality check that is not going to happen.
