Hey, I'm not near an expert here, but I do know as FACT:
The USPTO acknowledged VRNG Patents!
And all prior rulings acknowledged VRNG patents!
So who might actually have patents in the search engine world that are enforceable? How could this not help Yahoo, MSN, and other search engines? How could this not change...... everything?
And what is the USPTO needed for other than filing copies?
I guess Google feels they are so integrated in our lives and so far ahead in everything else, nobody can catch up. Or maybe they are patenting new technology. Well H, that shouldn't matter cuz recognized patents are not even enforceable, if its worth the money you'll have to spend to defend yourself like Google has
Well, I think you give the market too much credit. Big money used news as an excuse to "manipulate" it down to the 200, I don't know that they could get any more out of it, cuz earnings have been pretty good overall, with increasing guidance not all that rare. But we'll see if they try and take it down more. DRYS report was pretty solid overall, compared to what it could gave been, and with almost a flat response. What if they had missed! And it sounds pretty positive going forward at present
In summary, I think you're right, but I also thing there's a chance at a comeback because that will take it well below the 200. In terms of earnings numbers, there's a lot of companies that did well and increased guidance. The market is looking for excuses to go down and Short big money is instigating that environment. We'll see?
Well I guess if you were wanting the stock to move up nicely just on that? But it won't do too much with earnings around the corner
However, I thought he handled some tough questions very nicely though and with confidence.
Their Estimates have risen slightly for the quarter, AND, they have beat 3 of the last 4 Qtrs.
But the real news ultimately was what sounded like a very positive status update ahead of time as part of the interview
He still has a sizable amount yes, but I would consider the amount he sold, +30%, "material".
And I look at what has happened since, and now there seems to have been meaning behind it.
But I think it could be a good buy again here soon
The history for the last several similar drops has been a slow recovery over several months
I would expect some good news at some point somewhere, but I don't know if that will ultimately be in the numbers for the 3rd Qtr? And we'll have to see how they manage their Q3 numbers
I think it may have some more to go as report perception was quite negative, and the 20 should go thru the 200 here shortly. I don't see the positives in place to offset that other than a 50% drop, and it is technically oversold at present.
For what it's worth tho, I was surprised by the drop it took technically with no "publicized" news. It didn't really ever come close to even touching the 20 after it broke down thru it in mid June.
Also, the longer it can stay at this lower level, the less oversold it becomes without increasing.
Long term, I think it goes back up, but for me, its not a stock I'm hanging out in to go thru these earnings failures, until something changes.
And I need a more fair playing field than this one, because low volume for the most part, and someone knew as soon as the quiet period started, and they were confident enough to control it all the way down
Cash and cash equivalents $13,612
Accounts receivable 3,079
Ore on leachpads, current 226,416
Prepaids and other 6,847
Assets held for sale 46,576
Deferred tax assets, current 16,760
Controlled by Money, who can make it do what they want, and when.
That's part of what makes the market so risky for the average market investor.
Someone's making nice money on this as it goes lower
Check out MXWL, last month all on no publicized news
They also know how to take advantage of Quiet./Silent period.
1. Quiet Period — The period beginning two weeks prior to the end of the quarter and ending the day before the quarter-end date should be observed as a quiet period with no general business discussions by management with analysts or investors. However, during the quiet period, the Investor Relations Department may provide answers to fact-based inquiries from analysts or investors.
2. Silent Period — The period beginning on the quarter-end date and ending at the time of the earnings release for that quarter should be observed as a silent period with no formal or informal business discussions by management with analysts or investors and no answers provided to inquiries (even fact-based) from analysts or investors. Exceptions may occur at the Company's discretion based on need to discuss breaking news or otherwise.
Well I'll do some research, but Im sure someone here knows already
What are the characteristics of this preferred stock
How quickly can it be sold?
To peak after the bounce from 3.45?
News, rumor, whatever…Nothing formal, no commitment, but they got it public
Its just the market, there are a lot that do this
A significant move up like that is met with short term profit takers, and the Short side big money knows it, and they pile on and take control, and drive investors with good intentions mad
Take the gains on the pops, or think years ahead while keeping an eye on it for the target you're looking for.
I believe it was the Rockstar acquisition, this was at the end of July:
Rockstar Consortium, with a portfolio of more than 4,000 communications patents, has struck a deal with a tiny public patent monetization company, Spherix (SPEX), that is certain to increase the already growing interest in public IP-centric companies, or PIPCOs.
Spherix, with a market cap of only $5M, said in an announcement that it has entered into a deal with Rockstar, one of the world’s leading patent holders, to acquire a suite of patents. The announcement did not specify the patents being acquired, or the number, nor did it disclose the terms of the transaction. The press release did state that Rockstar has agreed to become a shareholder in Spherix, and that Spherix intends to bring its first enforcement action on the Rockstar portfolio within 30-60 days.
