Well I can't see Rockstar doing a complete "about face", because they still sold the rest of these patents….., for almost a $1billion that was paid for them. Yes less than what they paid, but a Bil$ is a huge investment by the buyers regardless.

It does sound like some of this area has gotten somewhat out of control. However, Spherix and Hayes may indeed be different??? But it does explain Apples pull back from Rockstar, as well as likely Rockstar's recent sale of the remaining patents.
Thoughts regarding your investment in Spherix?
If legislation is implemented, regardless of outcome for Spherix's efforts, I think it inherently affects Spherix's valuation? Agree or Disagree?
How will it be determined which Patents should be enforced or not? Patents have to exist, don't they??? Or could it just mean that maybe patents are valid only while held in the hands of the initial owner?
Patent Trolls inhibit the economy? Its revenue that is already there, its just a matter of who it goes to and is paying the taxes. The bottom line I believe is, are jobs and tax dollars?
But I think you're the one actually missing the point.
A major piece of researching companies for investment is considering the management team. How many people here actually considered the management independent of the hype? I would say zero because there is nothing about this management team that ever said this is a good investment here.
I think it can be said that universally, all investors here got involved because of the hype related to Google and dreams of $100/share when it only cost $3 to get in. And if just now getting involved? They're taking a flier because its only .50 cents a share. But there is still nothing about this management team that says this is a good credible investment. In fact, after these last 3 years, there couldn't be more red flags about getting involved with this company because of its management. There are still going to be investors tho because at .50/share, it might be worth a risk on that alone.
I consider this a lesson for future investing.
And as for analysts, they can be a source for understanding a history of events, but never get drawn in by any opinion or hype, and I think that applies to opinions up or down. They have no idea either
It seems to almost be a legal Ponzi scheme of sorts
But ya can't blame management. They "play" within all the "rules". And they never hyped their company.
I believe this was mostly all started by James Altucher, and everyone went in a frenzy looking for quick big money, blindly jumping on the band wagon while the wheels were still good
I wonder what happened to Altucher in this whole thing?
Exactly what I said, still re-living the hysteria and gloating.
Since still here, you must be invested. What's your cover price?
Maybe we all can learn something from you.
Long ago, yes I would say excitement and almost hysteria
-reasonableness for the most part by a few who have continued to hold
-a few diehard bashers still around and gloating at the lowest of lows
Yes, I get that
And I believe the silent period for year-end is 60 days?
But there has been ample opportunity if they wanted at what is the lowest of PPS ranges thus far
So with Fugitives Info below in response to the lack of Hayes or Other Insider purchase, I get........
- explains Insider activity...... via Options.
- explains that Hayes has ample access to a large number of shares otherwise thru his Options.
- gives "some" idea of where the shares "could" go at minimum considering the indicated exercise price vs where shares are today....(something above $4.97?)
But also, based on the below info, there has been ample opportunity for an open market acquisition far below exercise prices?
Or.... I'm simply misunderstanding or missing the point?
With almost 30 Mil shares outstanding, do you have an opinion of what the potential of this stock is?
In the last year+, I have seen talk ranging from $3-10, but also as high as triple digits?
I will say, Anthony bought 10k shares some time ago at a higher price, but I do wonder why he wouldn't be investing now when at a lower price than his prior investment, in these low .90's and ranging even lower at times.
For the moment today?... More confirmation of time to work with and manipulate down and get at least some of the longs frustrated. IMO
We'll see about other pending news, but everything about these plays historically moves extremely slow
Haha, Don't worry, I'm just referring to the world of VRNG
Disagree, there's nothing to sell, 150k revenue last Qtr, and they haven't been able to monetize anything of any value.
Would you by this company, and if so, why? How many shares are you invested with?
I used to consider your points also, but no longer. They were selling every quarter until this last one. I think a huge question is as to why not this time?.….And the only answer it can be is Boies, because they haven't shown there's a price point too low for they themselves to take some free money and run. And then on the pop to $5, they were the first ones in line to dump material amounts of shares….around 20+% of holdings . That should have told everyone where this was headed because they obviously didn't believe in it themselves. And "wha-la', here we are today at .49. People seemingly tried to "reason" with it as "a scheduled sale"……….I think that's total BS and wishful thinking, which turned out to be right.
Aldy, for as long as Nutty's been wrong about the ultimate demise of Jones thus far, you have also been incorrect for basically 20+ Qtrs of hopeful profit, only to react quite negatively after the actual release.
Maybe they learned something from last year's 3rd Qtr prop at the sacrifice of the 4th Qtr, and it would be tough not to better last year's 4th Qtr numbers, but maybe temper your hopes now of a 4th Qtr profit so you don't completely fall off the roller coaster again...... that is until 1st Qtr 2015 comes around again.
Would appear Boies is basically in charge now, and he has "forced" the first "hint" of responsibility and actual real leadership on Perlman, Berger and the rest of Management. They have given absolutely no prior reason for anyone to think they would actually do that on their own accord.
Why are they changing their greedy pattern?
Still no filings showing up!
Hard to believe this self-serving opportunistic management team wouldn't take their .50 cents and run.
Boies must have put a restriction on them
