Oil prices going higher and it only helps VTNR..
Not sure what the short thesis is anymore, especially with it being so oversold now...yesterday was like the 7th or 8th down day in a row....pretty brutal.
I'm still waiting for a wash out bottom but by the looks of the volume we may not get it and it's quite possible it just starts moving up without a big final shakeout....there's just no more sellers in the stock anymore...volume just isn't there.
We shall see....my bet is we're closer to a bottom than a top
Yeah it's before the dillution however, depending on what they buy with the money it might be a wash. I imagine they're going to buy something that'll create earnings fairly quickly in the next two qtrs so I'm sure once that happens their estimates will be raised.
We'll see, this is all speculation on my part but I can't see them buying something that's not going to be accretive to earnings otherwise what's the point.
Additionally; VTNR is still in an uptrend and the stock hit a low of $8.99 on this stock offering news. If VTNR wasn't so desirable by investors you would have seen the stock go down closer to the offering price.
The company raised guidance a week and a half ago, why is why the stock ran up from low 9's to $11.
VTNR is in a hot sector right now, energy is the talk of the town. News just hit the wires today that warren buffet is dropping $15 billion on renewable energy as well, which Is basically what vtnr does (recycles oil). Vtnr will continue it's uptrend once the weakness from this offering wears off and the shorts and traders move on. Once volume dries up you'll know vtnr will continue higher.
Welcome to Wall Street.
Very rarely do stocks drift down to an offering price when investors know where exactly the money is going. Even more rare is a float down to hat price when the company is buying something that's going to be accredit ice to earnings in such a big way, as we have in this case.
There's a big difference in a company issuing shares for "general corporate purposes" (which most do) and a company issuing shares for the purchase of another business....there's a huge difference. Uncertainty is what kills a stock, in this case; we know exactly where our money is going.
People are dumb
According to filing, they're raising guidance for the year. That's most likely the reason why stock ran up today..
Onward and upward.
PPS now has to adjust for the companies fundamentals (Which is higher). By my calculations, after going over presentation, fair value seems to be about $14 a share....based on the valuation their peers are getting
Call me crazy but I thought the CC was prettty good. THey answered alot of tough questions, gave very good explanations as to why they give give guidance and sounded very bullish on the next few months.
Of course, Wall street want guidance...they love it...they eat it up....if it were a drug they'd want to shoot it in their veins...so it doesn't surprise me the stock got hit. Anyone that has a basic understanding of the human language could clearly see NEON is doing quite well at the moment.
I sold a ton of shares from above $6 and $5 when the market appetite for risk went dry. Happy to say I bought a huge chunk of shares today at 3.99 and 4.24. I'll be more than happy to wait for the enevitable rise once folks actually realize NEON is executing to plan....and even better (according to them).
It's got nothing to do with reduced guidance. As one poster stated; their business model is shot. They need to transition into something else and investors aren't going to wait around. Just because a stock is lower, doesn't mean it's cheap. I could see this taking another pounding once the oversoldness is worn off. This is dead money for the next year and in an unforgiving market like this, it makes no sense to dump money into it.
If you lost big....lick your wounds, take the hit and move on. There's so many better places to put your money
And I was a raging bull on this stock at $17-$18 after the initial drop...I lost and that's that.
Great gtr and insane subscriber growth, over 3.56 million subscribers. Well over $14 per sub verses low $13's last qtr....that's crazy. They're doing something right. Waiting for upgrades, PT changes and EPS/REV adjustments over the coming days. Nice CC as well, analysts were taken aback by their growth.
Just because the stock took a hit doesn't mean they're doing something wrong. Just look at the internet sector stocks over the past month or so....almost every one of them got crushed. That's what this recent correction was all about, selling high growth high risk stocks.
Yes, fact, the price has been beat up but that in no way says they aren't doing something right. The market doesn't have an appetite for internet stock right now. RUna stock screener for the internet sector and you'll see how right my argument is.
and revenue and guidance isn't flat, they're project 50% growth next qtr from a year ago (Half of that is organic growth). so your argument makes no sense. Theyre growing revs faster than most internet sector companies
.20-.30 cents earnings on a $13 stock? What are you talking about? Internet sector stocks/ABTL's peers, aren't valued by that metric, they're valued on forward sales. The other internet auto stocks have valuations that are 4-5 times that of ABTL. There was nothing wrong with their report. How is over 40% year over year growth (20% organic...taken out their autoUSA buy) not good enough? ABTL is valued at a little over 1X forward sales, that's ridiculous.
You don't look at a stock share price and then say..."Oh, they should be making 20-30 cents a share per qtr". That doesn't even make sense. Each company is valued by different metrics in regards to their respective industry, that's the way it works.
No way we should be down 10% on that eranings report...no way.
But more if you can afford to, this goes higher medium term..
Doesn't take much to move this stock
Unreal, volume skyrocketed right around 3pm and the stocks ran up huge. THen at 4pm a great ER comes out.....Insiders always know first. Luckily I was already long but still, its a bunch of baloney. Someone knew they were going to knock the cover off the ball with this earnings report
Stock took a hit right after CC started, I imagine they announced not so great guidance.
RTEC and UCTT both gave pretty bad guidance and their stocks got hit pretty hard. If other companies aren't doing well going forward then I can't imagine NVMI is going to buck the trend
