CC, what stock are you buying? If you left out the dollar in your prices, I can understand that. You aren't used to trading over $1. And you could have bought the CLOSE and got better prices, but what is a few more pennies....

Homes, you would have to "Average Out" of IVAN if you had some investing sense. Right now it's just a bad lotto ticket. @ $1.40 per share, it is trading at the equivalent of $.20, pre-split. If you take out last years split, it's really only 6 CENTS!

wait it might drop to 1.20

Right now IVAN is trading @ $1.40. It was as high as $1.69. So, basically it went from $.24 to $.20, on an unadjusted basis (for the current split). Or from 8 pennies to 7 pennies, if you back out last years split!

Hey Homes, enjoying the latest split? What is the real price? It's about 8 pennies, before both splits!

RCPI is MY pick! I own that pick and will stick with it. And CC/Buggie has posted multiple 5,000 share buys of IVAN at higher prices, so I assume he bought MORE as it went down. Unfortunately it KEEPS GOING DOWN because the story is SO OLD and discredited!

CC is still talking SMACK to the Board while IVAN drifts -9% LOWER on DOUBLE VOLUME to close at another NEW 52 WEEK LOW! Meanwhile IVAN needs a +75% UP MOVE to catch up to RCPI, which closed @ $.35. Only 17 more days left in our bet!

So, while IVAN is $00.0002 away from making a 52 WEEK LOW, just on the ANNOUNCEMENT of the split ratio, you take SOLACE in the fact that RCPI is low? You wish your stock was trading @ $.33! I would be SAD if I owned IVAN stock too! Right now that would be $1.50 per share for IVAN post split, but you would own 1/7th as many shares. So if CARBO COPY amassed 100,000 shares of IVAN (post the FIRST SPLIT), he will own 14,285 on Monday. But he's not that stupid.....is he?

IVAN is TERMINATING it's Block 20 agreement with Ecuador! They are trying to sell out to a NOC, which will sell out the profits. And the NOC just put the proposed project on HOLD!
Ivanhoe has negotiated with the government the process and terms for a termination by mutual agreement of the Specific Services Contract under which Ivanhoe has operated the Block since 2008 as well as the migration to a new Service Contract with the Consortium. Ivanhoe and the NOC have worked diligently to assure that this process fully complies with the Government's protocol.

The NOC has recently advised Ivanhoe that some of its international projects, including the Block 20 project, are currently on hold and under review. Ivanhoe anticipates that this delay will last until the end of the third quarter of 2014.

From the IVAN Press Release. IVAN uses an average of $7.5 million cash per quarter and has $4.6 on hand. How long will that last? What are "base operations"? Does that include the funding for the demonstration plant, which HAS NEVER SOLD ONE HTL plant in 15 years? Or is it just salaries and rent?
Cash used in operating activities for the first six months of 2014 was $15.5 million , which is $5.1 million less compared to cash used in the same period of 2013 of $20.6 million . The decrease is primarily due to a $7.8 million reduction in G&A expenses for the six months ended June 30, 2014 , as compared to the six months ended June 30, 2013 partially offset by a number of miscellaneous operating items reducing the impact of the corporate overhead reductions.
At June 30, 2014 , Ivanhoe Energy had approximately $4.6 million in cash and cash equivalents. These reserves are sufficient to conduct base operations into the beginning of the fourth quarter. Moreover, the Company continues to source alternatives to replenish its treasury in order to execute its business plan. These alternatives range in form and complexity but all have the goal of establishing a solid financial base for the Company.

And CC, before you yell, RCPI is back in the $.40's, now trading @ $.49. I added to it in the $.30's because the chart had bottomed and the company's "story" is in it's early days and it has good potential to rise. IVAN has short term pain ahead (Reverse split, $$$ drain) and long term pain ahead. IVAN has NEVER sold a HTL plant, although IVAN bought a license for the tech in 2005, almost a decade ago.

I added a little and bought some @ $.39. My basis is down to $1.45. Now, if the stock could go up a little, that would be nice! The chart is so low that there is no way to go but up...

Hey, CC, I posted my BUYS's on the IVAN Board in the last few weeks. Did you miss it? The "actual" buys posts were on the RCPI Board on 7/29 and 8/5. I didn't post my basis on 8/5 but it is $1.39. Where are your IVAN BUYS in the $.20's? Or are you waiting for the TEENS??????

So, it's 11am and 5,500 shares have traded on NASDAQ. The 10Q SUCKED and now we are waiting for the REVERSE SPLIT. Then there is the refinancing problem. They run out of money in 1 quarter, IF they can hold put that long: Capital Resources and Potential Share Consolidation

At June 30, 2014 , Ivanhoe Energy had approximately $4.6 million in cash and cash equivalents. These reserves are sufficient to conduct base operations into the beginning of the fourth quarter. RCPI closed @ $38. IVAN has to get 60% just to catch up. And YES, IVAN is still running out of money NOW. RCPI is good until 2015.: Liquidity

Ivanhoe's existing financial resources are insufficient to fund the future capital expenditures necessary to advance the development of our existing projects and to maintain the Company's business activities at their current level. In the near term, the Company will require other sources of financing in order to continue operating its business as currently constituted. Ivanhoe intends to finance its future funding requirements through among other alternatives, a combination of strategic investors and/or public and private debt and equity markets, either at a parent company level or at the project level, or through the sale of interests in existing oil properties and technology. There is no assurance that the Company will be able to complete one or more of these alternatives, or do so on favorable terms.

So, RCPI went from $.39 to $.37 in a trade/series of trades that all shows up at 15:59:09. It is a series of 24 trades that takes the price down $.02 ranging 100 shares to 11,900 shares, ALL IN THAT ONE SECOND. Pretty good trick....
