They don't own most of the facilities, most are franchised out. Thus they are making money of the franchisees. So they lease out all the equipment and do the financing. It's up to the franchisees to manage and make a profit. I am a member, age 65, i joined at Christmas time, the Special, pay $99 and go for one year, that's it. Been a member two years. I go 5 times a week, get pizza and bangles first week of every month, take a 1/2 hour hot shower each time, and take a handful of tootsi rolls on way out. Also, take a ballpoint pen once a month. If treasury ten yr. rate si 4% then a utility rate of return must go up. It goes up only by a drop in stock price. Utilites are regulated to earn a rate of return on book equity of around 9% to 10%. So the divided amount can only go up by reinvesting income in Plant without issuing new stock.
