JC Penney lost so much during the Ron Johnson era that it needs double digit sale increases to get back to where it was. That's not going to happen with the economic funk that the American middle class is going through and it's not going to happen with Amazon and all the specialty retailers around. JCP has two, maybe three years to live. ☺☺☺
No one under the age of forty would be caught dead in a JC Penney store. This retail will be having a great big going-out-of-business sale soon. Bank on it.
Surprise? No. The only surprise will be the timing. RSH bankruptcy is fully expected by 99.99% of the people out there. (Are you feeling a bit lonely, Danzey?) ☺☺☺
You should have said the 'streets' don't seem to like JCP because both Main Street and Wall Street seem to despise JCP. This company is going down soon.
Radio Shack is like a buggy whip maker. It no longer serves a useful purpose. Unless this business model is changed RADICALLY, any money pumped into this enterprise is cash thrown down a bottomless hole. Unfortunately, RSH doesn't have the cash to effect a radical change. Christmas 2014 will be the last for Radio Shack - you can bank on it. ☺☺☺
This dog can't hunt. America's middle class is under tremendous economic stress. And JCP can't even find a new leader. The cash burn continues.
I'm check the news for an announcement of JC Penney's bankruptcy filing every morning.
In Radio Shack's case, today is the beginning of the END!!! ☺☺☺
pay4gay: I'll help you get your 'investment' in RSH started. I will pay you twenty shares of RSH if you will &*#$ my &*#$. Spitting out is not allowed. Let me know if you're interested. ☺☺☺
Don't you know? The internet is just a flash in the pan - here today, gone tomorrow. TUES management is wisely ignoring this phenomena with the purpose of conserving TUES capital. Trust them. The internet will not affect Tuesday Morning. ☺☺☺
They should do like AARP and enroll people automatically as they turn fifty. No one under fifty shops at Sears or Kmart.
Goodbye and good riddance to bad rubbish! Radio Shack's main problem is that they don't offer a compelling value proposition to consumers today. There is nothing available at Radio Shack stores that you can't get better or cheaper some where else. As such, RSH is up a creek without a paddle.
Time to DUMP JCP. Brick and mortar is going the way of the dodo bird and JCP is one of the weakest brick and mortar retailers out there. Thank you for asking the question. ☺☺☺
Yes. Yahoo Finance hired Ron Johnson to design and implement the new Yahoo message boards and he has their full faith and confidence. Trust Ron - you'll grow to like it once you're properly educated as to why it's a better system. ☺☺☺
Improving sales are great but you've got to pay your expenses as well. I don't see this magical transformation that you keep telling us about.
"...shes pretty sophisticated."
She can't be all that sophisticated if she's dating you! ☺☺☺
