Who would possibly want the position? A large part of JC Penney's problem is its image as where grandma shops. Add to that the two different styles of stores (those remodeled Johnson and those not remodeled) and the ffact that cash balances have been drained and you have an unappetizing challenge.
Wow. JCP longs are really getting desperate comparing JC Penney to Sears Roebuck. That's sort like saying I can run faster than the guy in the wheelchair. Whoopee! Birds of a retail feather will disappear together. Neither Sears nor JC Penney will be around in three years. They'll take a lot of gullible bagholders with them when they liquidate.
I've seen the stores and I just can't wait. JCP holiday sales results will be horrific. It seems as if it will take forever for the bad news to become official. I can't wait for gnashing of JCP longs' teeth and the searing of JCP longs' flesh to start. It's going to be great!
since they switched to heating JC Penney headquarters by burning cash. LOL
But the JCP pumpers are saying that JC Penney stores are PACKED every weekend with shoppers opening up NEW JC PENNEY CHARGE CARDS and customers leaving with MULTIPLE BAGS. I just can't believe that the JCP pumpers would LIE to us. What the heck is going on here?
JC Penney salons are little more than a Great Clips or Fantastic Sam's now. Folks graduate from their local beauty colleges and start paying their dues at the JCP. You can't change much when you're already slumming as it is. Relax. JC Penney salons will stay as they are until JC Penney files bankruptcy and liquidates.
No. Gift card holders will be screwed. Run, don't walk, to your nearest JC Penney and redeem any and all JC Penney gift cards As Soon As Possible. Be sure you take a handful of coupons with you so that you can maximize the card's value.
Department stores are getting a smaller share of the consumer's dollar. Today, department stores garner only 6% of consumer purchases. Clearly, online retailers and specialty stores are dramatically shrinking the revenue spent at department stores. This is largely why the weaker department stores such as Sears and JC Penney are having so much trouble. It also doesn't help that their traditional shoppers, the middle class, is under so much financial pressures.
JCP is sinking slowly but steadily, just like the Titanic. And just like the Titanic, the sinking JCP will take hundreds with it as it plunges below. Don't pity the bagholders - they asked for it by buying into JCP. They paid for the privilege. ROFLMAO
that stock brokers should be required to give JCP stock purchasers a free tube of KY so that JCP baggies don't have to take it raw. It's bad enough that they're going to lose it all. They shouldn't be sore as well.
The increased customer traffic is only a figment of JCP longs' imagination. It never shows up as actual sales and revenue. Therefore, smart money realizing that JCP is a very bad bet is a much better indicator of the future price direction of JCP.
