However, I'm believing we shall see some weak short covering prior to the 22nd. The volume has been so small lately that it won't take much to get this stock trading up in the mid three's prior to the call.

if it were that easy, (watching for insider buys) this game would'nt be a game. we all watched the CFO of FB sell significant stock quantities just months before the stock tripled. Go figure. I only believe in the prospects of this company because of the resume' of it;s CEO. That's it. Successfull, proven leaders succeed at a high ratio. That's the bet..

invest- don't gamble. Have you read about the track record of the CEO? That's what I'm investing in. I'm no genius but buy and hold at this price seems more than reasonable.

Listening to the call now. Not a smash by any means, but sounding more like turnaround IS in progress. Are you giving the man (Hoby )enough credit?

Hey Mike, good to hear from ya. I checked into TRMR and yes, it's interesting. So What is your vibe? I read the articles. Anything else to be positive about? I'd much rather be a long than a short of anything. Hope you made out nice in SKUL. Looking for something new myself.

OP You are touting negative speculation. I'm not saying that you are not right. ...just that there is a better chance that you are wrong. You havn't been right since you turned negative on SKUL. I'm not sayining that a prudent investor should not have easily have taken profits above 10, it's just this, give me a solid argument that an actual turnaround is not in progress. I'm talking about from now until this time next year. The same timeframe Charlie was referencing before he went Postal.. Appreciate your thoughts..

Michael, it's been a while since I've chimed in. But good for you for selling when you felt it was prudent. We all did well and getting into the 10's was glorious. Having said that, I have to input that I will never, ever, ever, be swayed by the insider sales of a stock. An investor needs to look at many variables, but this one tells you nothing. Once you've seen a Major player or two dumb stock and then it continues to increase, you might find that there are too many reasons why stock sales hapen and it is not a viable indicator to pay attention to. Case in point, FB CFO sold large holdings 9 months ago prior to FB stock appreciating 250%. There was much banter about her sales. Bottom line is, it is no barometer. Skul could catch it's breath, and then get into the teens. (but not until more hard data proves positive-which is not at all out of the question) Good luck in your next adventure!

I think it's early yet. I love the track record of this CEO and have been watching on the sidelines for months. Soon ready to start investing. I think this is a fantastic market but what do I know? I will lay down some chips in the coming weeks/months and see if Len is as good as his track record.

Again, thank you for an honest, intelligent , and insightful reply. (wish there was more of this and less juvenile banter) It sounds like you know this stock well. I think you described my motive accurately. -just coming in recently and looking for the big score. perhaps I was too far off on my assessment of approval probability odds and you were much closer. I guess that's why the stock only dropped a little bit in my estimation instead of the 50% which I was prepared to lose. FYI I did bail out at 1.62 and will go elsewhere and keep one eye on DRRX for down the road. Best of luck to you as well.

Did not get the Astro product. Truth is that I am significantly above the mean age for gaming involvement. But I am glad that under the Skul umbrella, there is a wireless option for gaming. I just can't understand why they are so far behind in wireless earbuds. It seems like the whole world is living under a rock by still having "plugged in" earbuds. I only discovered them myself about 3-4 months ago. I bought a pair of "tags" by Outdoor Tech and I absolutely love the unplugged freedom. Yes, the battery life could be longer but the sound is adequate and they charge super fast. I'm a flooring installer and love to listen to music while I work without the customer hearing my tunes. If skul doesnt come out with some soon, I might just buy a second pair from Outdoor so I can keep one charged while I listen to the other. Also I am a runner and the unplugged version is undeniably a game changer. Will never run with a cord attached to my phone again.
I'm glad you like the Astro phones. but just remember this, gaming is a niche market(a big niche) but high end gaming is not so big. I'm looking for paradigm shift innovations that will substantially change the consumers buying choices. (like the air raid) Just wish Hoby would steer skul more into the mainstream and stop limiting himself to the irreverent crowd. Homeowners spend money too. (home audio, docking stations etc.)

Again we are in the hum drum stages of holding a value stock. Interesting that we had that nice big gain on Jan. 30th for no apparent reason. About seven months ago I posted, What is the down side to owning this stock at the price of $5.30 if I recollect corectly. I would offer the same argument today at $7.20. I've grown comfortable with the new staff and that pre-Christmas upgrade has me feeling like we are moving the correct direction. The thing is this, If I don't hear Hoby start talking more about wireless and Bluetooth on the next call, I will cash in my chips and move on. There is no doubt that the next decade of headphones, ear buds and home speaker systems are going wireless. If they are not going to get into this game (more agressively)then good luck to them. If they don't recognize a paradigm shift when it is occurring than I'll invest in someone that does.

Well if it's any consolation, I sold a third of mine and will be looking to get back in to the limit at some point here. Maybe even tap the margin if it gets too low. Got a question for you. Do you strictly day-trade or do you hold your positions for multiple days?

  • benshometownflooring by benshometownflooring Dec 4, 2013 8:41 PM Flag

The $10 million dollar buyer from last quarter will strike again and bring shares up to the respectable sixes. Any sniff of positive news or foreward progress or even another 10,000 shares bought by Hoby would ignite this thing. I posted about six months ago, "what's the downside?" I still believe it is nothing more than a waiting game. This company is valued as if it were going out of business in a month or two. I Just don't see it. Gaming is off to a great holliday start as well as BBY. Just sayin'...

From the call last quarter, Hoby indicated that a large portion of expenses were due to the final closing of the 2nd branch location. The goal was to slash the SG@A and it should now be evident moving foreward.

Hit it on the head. Reactive.. Would it really hurt to at least have One oferring in wireless for goodness sakes. I'm a skull fan for multiple reasons, but I had to go elsewhere for my purchase. I seriously would like to buy several more sets for Christmas gifts, but I want to wait for skull to get on the stick and get in the game. I know it won't be by Christmas though. Maybe nice 4th of July gifts instead.

Thanks for the input Stafford. What I am invisioning is this. People who work out often do it with music. In gyms, joggers, do it yourselfers, etc. When they do their activity, it is generally less than an hour or two. Battery life is in no way an issue for a normal exerciser. if you ask them them the question, is it more irritating to be limited to a six hour workout until you have to recharge the battery or have to be attached to a 3 foot umbillical cord to your device, I'm betting it is wireless by a landslide.
Sound quality is an issue. at least at this time. But only to the highly critical, upper end music appricianato(is that a real word). I am also betting that the average joe schmoe would not be dissapointed with the sound quality considering the huge benefit of the cord free operating ability.
I am joe schmoe and I think there are millions of people who think that this is very cool and that the "unplugged" capability while doing their activity is maybe the most revolutionary breakthrough since the cell phone.
Out of a curiosity and credibility note, can you please let us know where a person can buy wireless earbuds right now for $8. I paid $65 for my outdoor tech "Tags" and after 24 hours, I can tell you that it was money well spent. ( And I'm a cheap #$%$!)
