We've all seen this movie before. Up to near six. back down to 5.30's. nothing to get excited about from the front desk. Simply waiting till Oct. 28th for some insight.
make me confident that there are people out there who know something that I don't know about this company. And I think that something is good. (Sorry that this message lacks any sniff of technical merit, but it's all that my tiny brain can muster up. - but my heart is in the right place... GO SKUL!!!
It would be great to talk about the actual company.. The problem is that there simply is not any new, relevant information. This company is quite tight lipped about how it is going about it's turnaround and return to glory..
All we have is speculation concerning recent interest in the stock. Yes, it theoretically could go down as it just recently went up. It just seems unlikely that such huge volume is without a cause.. And I doubt that their intention was to buy 10M worth of stock and then watch it go back to 4.90 a share..
The volume today was amazingly low. Not surprised to end red but here is a new trend. In weeks past we might have dropped .25-.29 on a day like today. There are buyers out there now. More confidence in the potential. The broader market has had a rough week and we held solidly above six. I believe last weeks mystery buyer will strike again next week. Should hear a date for Q3 call as well.
I'm with Mike on this one. I've seen over the last nine months this stock just does it's own thing regardless of the broader trend. That's why I like it! It's a great value and as long as there is no bad news, we will appreciate. Even no news is good news so it seems and Hoby is good at No-news...
So it appears that the new range is 6.15 low and 6.60 high. It used to be 5.10 and 5.75. With absolutely no news available, why has it changed? If there is good news on the horizon( which I certainly believe) why do people continually sell out. I get that the spread is a quick score, but what if the big news comes and you just sold your stake. This company is amazingly quiet.. I'm gonna pass on the small bucks..
Wow, that was a riveting read.. Thanks. I can see how that all unfolds and I admit that yes, I am, (hopefully was) a sheep. I added 3000 shares at 6.61 earlier this week simply cuz i saw the crazy buying and thought it was "jumping the creek" and yes I did not sell them yesterday as I thought the same thing might be happening. You nailed it! BAAAHHHHHAAAA!! I need a shepard!
if a hypothetical buyout did occur, is there a likelyhood that it would be a negative event for shareholders? I've never been through a buyout deal and especially with a company with a few quarters of bad numbers. What could happen?
FW- as I read many of your earlier posts, I quickly drew the conclusion that you were some idiotic basher who could not substantiate your terribly pessimistic view of Skul. On this post it looks like you actually are giving some explanation as to why you think that skul is a sell. Thank you for that. Many of us feel that mindful contributions are helpful and welcomed as long as there is an explanation. Having said that, I have very little idea if what you said is plausible or not. ( I am the farthest thing from a stock guru or chartist) I'm a flooring installer for pete's sake!! But here is my point.... Maybe it was simply a COINCIDENCE that the stock has dropped 9% after the news of new CFO. Maybe it was'nt investors pulling out because of the non-iminent buyout but maybe the drop was somehow connected to the fact that the ENTIRE stock market has has two huge down days. Have you looked around brother? Look at Deckers, Facebook, Tesla, Netflix. I don't think this selling off has 1 bit to do with this particular company. But that's just me. I'm long and I added today. sleep tight.
I like the possibility of where you think this stock can go. What other companies are out there in the consumer discretionary sector that have a $200 valuation?
Mike- it appears as though you are a chartist. i know very little about how that all works. I did see someone buy a schmidt-load of stock a couple of weeks ago which makes me feel optimistic. My question is this.. How much predictability is there in chart formations vs. information about the actual business?
So if we are maxed out, do we sit through earnings? And I do mean MAXED OUT.
I'm no genius but here is the deal. Currently stock has been bottoming at low 6's and pivoting in the 6.35-6.60's to sell. If it is true that you are in for the big score and not the swing action, definately buy now. tomorrow a.m. It ain't gonna be much lower before earnings on the 30th. tdd is right on. Good luck. Long and strong!!!
