Did I mention these jokers in the head office are morons? Where the heck is the share buyback????

  • betasplen1 betasplen1 15 hours ago Flag

That's why they are smart my butt head. And it proves my point that they are morons. But they are taking this route to reward themselves if the stock price improves....

  • betasplen1 betasplen1 15 hours ago Flag

That's why they have options tied to their compensation. Latest one was an exercise price of $2.53. They are smart all right - they know those will be worth a tidy amount if the stock goes to double digits...

  • betasplen1 by betasplen1 15 hours ago Flag

Wonder what that little flurry of activity in the pre-market was all about. Total of 5500 shares but only a thousand shares in the 2.60s. Last trade was 300 shares at 2.68.

Qsymia and the Silent Partner - Fact or Theory?

pmt, glad you are still a 'silent long' on this board. There is not much to say as we can speculate till we turn blue in the face, but if management does not lift a finger to help (they promptly lift their middle finger whenever I or an analyst asks them a critical question), the stock will remain in the $2s for the short term. Many here are satisfied that management is doing their thingy at a sloth's pace and that things will eventually get better. All facts support that theory but I am irked by Seth's deliberate ignorance of fiduciary duties. I am helpless like you to do anything about it and so I just hold and watch paint dry, knowing that it is foolish to be selling down here given the facts.

VVUS projected to make .66 cents a share!!!!

So Rup. I need an example of a BK pharma that had analysts promising the sky on Yahoo! Finance and also how VVUS will go bankrupt given the current and future financials. After giving bubbles a hard time on not providing proof to back up his statement, you can't do the same, can you? Bubbles did his part. Your turn now. I am waiting...

Geez Mike, do you work for the FBI? That's a lot of gray matter exercised for a stock that has become an immovable object in the mid $2s. You sure come up with a lot of positive conspiracy theories. Good reading material. Keep it up!

OK Rup, it's your turn now. Show me one of those bankrupt pharmas where you can pull up analyst's consensus promising the sky? Speaking of bankruptcy, tell us how a company that has $56MM in net cash (after subtracting debt) and $300MM in royalties and milestones in the future, can declare bankruptcy? Oh and let's forget that Q could become the best selling weight loss drug after ARNA/OREX issues and that Stendra/Spedra could take off with ENDO doubling it's marketing efforts and EU countries warming up to the 15 min onset. Explain your bankruptcy theory to us. I'd like to hear it since there is not much else to discuss while we wait for improving sales and earnings...

    Which analyst

    by betasplen1 May 27, 2015 5:06 PM
    betasplen1 betasplen1 May 28, 2015 11:17 AM Flag

I'll take 38 cents for the entire year if they can achieve it. I sure hope that all this waiting will work out in the end. This is the longest I have so much money tied up in one stock. Not a good investment plan by any means but I can't see why this won't rebound since all facts point to a $12 stock in a year (at least)....

  • betasplen1 by betasplen1 May 27, 2015 5:06 PM Flag

actually sees the improving metrics behind the doom and gloom that the stock is displaying? One of the 6 analysts covering the company has $0.38 in earnings and $222MM in revenues for 2016. All the facts we know today are supporting that analyst who seems to be actually doing his homework. Does anyone know who that is?
A conservative PE of 30 and PS of 5 will put the stock in the $11-12 range without any short squeeze required. Of course, a share buyback will get us there much sooner and a windfall for a management (and the company) that has the smarts to pull it off. But Seth and co. do not fit that category in any way. However, if they can meet those estimates, because their products work and not necessarily because of their smarts, I will still forgive them for the total lack of fiduciary duty for the past year (and counting). Till then, I will call a spade a spade. Lazy ignoramuses....

  • betasplen1 betasplen1 May 26, 2015 10:45 AM Flag

They are morons, sloths, pricks and ignoramuses. I don't use expletives and so that will cover most of it. They are quick to file a 8K but won't tell us or do anything that will actually help the stock price.

Thanks for your advice and sympathy (Rup). I do have a longer horizon than when I was with Horizon Pharma, pun intended. Maybe 2-3 years. It's just that I don't think the execs care a hoot about shareholders. They have never lamented that the stock is trading below cash value for over 200 days or that they feel that the company is drastically undervalued. They go about doing their thing as though they have all the time in the world to meet their business objectives. It looks like they want the company to survive long term so that they will keep getting their salaries, not to do what a CEO of any other publicly traded company needs to do to keep his job - to increase shareholder value. There seems to be no sense of urgency and they do not respond to analysts or shareholders who are #$%$ off with the stock performance. Maybe their business strategy will eventually take care of the stock price but that's just a guess at this time. When there are sure shot ways to help the shareholders, they don't throw a single lousy bone! That's what #$%$ me off with Seth and co.

  • betasplen1 by betasplen1 May 22, 2015 10:08 AM Flag

and I am tempted to sell so that VVUS can track HZNP from the $2s to $30. The latter sat in the $2s for a year as well with an inexplicably large short position and I sold in disgust. Maybe that's what it takes (my share sell back) since the morons will not do a share buyback...

  • betasplen1 betasplen1 May 21, 2015 10:37 AM Flag

bubble, I for one, am one of those who says they have done nothing for shareholders. I do like the way they are going about tackling the business strategy. But the stock has fallen 90% since Seth took over and is a dream stock for shorts ever since. He should have noticed that improving fundamentals, new patents and higher revenues have done NOTHING, NADA, ZILCH to move the needle on the stock price or short position. So, if he has any common sense, he should either be buying a ton of shares in the open market or using some of the company funds (or borrow more money at low interest rates if risk averse) to institute a company share buyback. This will get the shorts scattering, the analysts re-thinking their recommendations, potential acquirers putting together a proposal faster, providing a great avenue to raise funds for the company by re-selling those shares at much higher prices and last but not least, be shareholder friendly!!

Time to kick Seth out next! And bring in a CEO who cares a hoot about shareholders. I have sent 15 emails over the past 2 months and not even an acknowledgement. I can imagine him showing me the finger as he does to some of the analysts on the earnings call. The guy does not know the difference between running a public and private enterprise. Such incompetence should be rewarded with a pink slip...

    VVUS......Thoughts.....

    by pr5250 May 6, 2015 10:04 AM
    betasplen1 betasplen1 May 19, 2015 7:34 AM Flag

pr5250, your thoughts are similar to mine and pmt's (excluding the Stendra is a wash statement). That's why I have been begging the company to change status quo with the shorts. Improving financials or increasing institutional support does not seem to make a dent in the short and mid term. They have to couple it with a share buyback announcement (or insider buying in the open market as a second choice). Only then will there be belief in the street that these clowns actually have a plan to deliver for their shareholders.

  • betasplen1 betasplen1 May 18, 2015 10:09 AM Flag

I second that. So, we now have competitors (OREX, ARNA) running into potential issues with partnerships and inefficacy respectively. We have Teva and Actavis potentially mulling a bid for Q (or VVUS itself) with their otherwise meaningless ANDA submissions. We see Q scripts approaching new all-time highs, We see Stendra marketing efforts ramped up by ENDO this month after a temporary hiccup with their M&A activity. We see the potential for CVOT to be modified to VVUS's favor, thereby reducing cash burn in the future and EU approval. Stock is still in the gutter. But what is new? All I can say is we can sleep well at night knowing that it is ridiculously undervalued, given the facts, unless you need the money today.

Hey rup, you know that this poster is not your venerable doc, no? Not that I read any of your idol's posts (was before my time) but this ID was created recently. Must be a parody of his Belviq/ARNA addiction. If he really is your Dr. Henry, I am not at all impressed. Sounds like a typical pumper on the wrong board...

    Real World Efficacy

Thanks for sharing your personal experience with Q. This is what we need here - testimonials from real users. Of course, we cannot validate the veracity of these anecdotes but it is far better than the boring reflections on daily stock price movements and constant ridiculing of each other. I like the news lately but ain't getting excited till we cross $4 (not $3). Who knows when?? In the mean time, where is the freakin' share buyback or insider buying? I have sent the morons a dozen emails and not even an acknowledgement of receipt. Punks....

PS: I met Seth while in the rainforest the past couple of weeks, hanging off a high branch..not a care in the world about anything really. The ticos called him "sloth" for some reason...
