Question? Do you think fund managers and institutions are going to fork out $58M for a secondary that has little to no appreciation potential? That thinking is absurd. They are in it for a lot more than 0.10 or even a few dollars. These types of investors are not stupid. Notice how no shares were available tot he public and that one of the larges banks in the world is the underwriter? They have a huge worldwide brokerage operation. What will happen if they initiate coverage with a buy recommendation?

  • The news of review of Triferic by this committee is extremely significant for the progress of final FDA approval. FDA highly considers the committee's recommendations when approving a drug. If the Advisory Committee has no issues, its almost a guarantee of FDA approval in Jan. Look for results of the Committee's decision in November..

It is my understanding that the company likely already knows what the outcome of the committee will be. The committee has to provide the company a list of questions or concerns several weeks in advance of the meeting so the company can provide responses. If the committee has "major" issues they will not likely approve Triferic unless the company can adequately address the committe's concerns.

On the other hand the committee may have few, if any concerns and Triferic may just go flying through. If ti does, FDA will VERY likely approve it in January.

What does it say about Triferc's chances of FDA approval that Baxter is willing to invest over $30M before a decision is made by FDA!!!!!!!!!!! I am only surprised the stock did not move up more. I'm not a big trader but will be buying 4,000 shares on Monday. This stock is going to soar.

You are right. I was negative on the company months ago but developments in the past 6 months have been very positive and I believe the company's stock will explode if Triferic is approved.

All I am saying is the options activity is telling us something, at least that larger investors are hedging just in case. This isn't negative but a smart strategy many investors use to protect their positions. It doesn't mean they are negative but are just buying insurance. Keep in mind that FDA did not approve the cllnical trial protocols but the company asked for FDA input which is what the company received. This is very important positive thing in my opinion. I hope the AdCom recommends moving forward with Triferic. We know the safety profile is outstanding so they cannot complain about that.

  • It is my opinion that dilution form the 955,000 shares from the exercise of the warrants is responsible for the stock drop. Yes, the company gets about $8M in cash but it doesn't need any more money thanks to the Baxter deal. Hopefully the price will stabilize and begin moving back up. Clearly the Baxter deal is huge and the Baxter deal is huge

I will get bashed claiming to be a short but I am interested in others opinions about the significant put volume today for a number of strike prices as well as the open interest. The puts far outweigh calls for the $8 to $14 range. On larger cap stocks it is often an indicator of where investors believe a stock is headed but may be completely irrelevant in this case. Perhaps longs buying insurance?.

We will either have an incredibly good week next week or it will be a disaster for us longs. Time will tell.

  • Its time for the company to aggressively go after the shorts who are deliberately manipulating the stock price. Is the alleged investigation of BOD a coincidence that it was released the same day AdCom approved Triferic? NO WAY!!!! It is my strong opinion the stock is being manipulated and the company should get the SEC involved and also consider suing the people involved.

  • I believe this is the cause if the stock drop this morning. The report says

I'm sure there will be other issues raised during the Nov. 6 panel, but overall, the data I discussed raise questions about the clinical significance of adding Triferic to the dialysis process. Oral and IV iron, supplemented by ESAs, do a very good job of maintaining hemoglobin and managing anemia. Yet it's not clear whether Triferic brings anything new to the dialysis treatment landscape. Rockwell will surely argue otherwise. I'm not predicting a negative FDA panel vote with certainty, I'm just saying the company has a big challenge ahead on Nov. 6.

Open interest on November put options at $7, $8, $9 & $10 strike price are significantly higher than call open interest.. Investors are either buying a lot of protection or are convinced the AdCom meeting will not be favorable. IR report says an AdCom meeting is held either because a drug is unique and FDA wants to look into it more or because they see a problem with some aspect of it.. Let's hope its the former of the 2 reasons.
