After the terrible 3rd quarter earnings report, and today's dismal stock performance, S now seems like a long term hold. I realize they are in a "transitional" period but for how long? The only "hope" in the short term is that SoftBank may buy the remaining shares. I think that hope is relatively low. I do not believe Sprint will try to buy T-Mobile (again) anytime soon.

It has been a hell of a ride for me. I originally bought S at about $2.20 per share and watched it briefly trade above $11. Now the stock is trading under $5.20. I think it is time for me to say goodbye to S and to this board. I can say one thing, it has been interesting.....

I just can't see anything that will bring S back in the short term. Long term sure.... cutting jobs, expanding the high speed network, great deals for customers, and the possibility that SoftBank will buy out the remaining shareholders. However, for now, things look a little bleak....

    We shall see....
(The earnings report was really bad. I'm not sure what Sprint can say tomorrow to turn things around.)

    $5.97 now...

It's interesting to see S struggle back to $6 in the after-market. I kind of like that...
I will be even more interested to see where S closes tomorrow. (after the conference call)

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

I hope Sprint comes up with something good in the conference call tomorrow morning. As for the earnings, to put it mildly, they were very disappointing.

    Oh well, life goes on....

3rd quarter earnings will be announced on Monday. All important will be the new subscriber number. Of lesser importance will be whether or not Sprint earned a profit and guidance. I'm not sure what to think. The other major carriers (T, VZ, TMUS) gained a substantial number of subscribers. Where does this leave Sprint? I would like to think with new management and all the new "deals", that Sprint too will make a substantial gain. (in subscribers) I know one thing, Sprint needs some very good news to break out of it's $6 (+ or -) range....

    Sentiment: Strong Buy
