With or without T-Mobile, S has value. Sprint has been working hard to upgrade their network. They achieved a (small) profit during the last quarter. They have over 50 million customers. They receive over $35 billion in revenue each and every quarter. Now Sprint will (for the time being) confront the future on their own. There is no way around it, the end of the merger talks is bad news. However, it will be interesting to see where S settles in the next few weeks and months. S has value and now we will find out what the market believes that value is....

Sprint Will Not Merge With T-Mobile

This is very bad news for S and TMUS. I'll bet it turns out to be good news for T and VZ. Regardless, I still believe in Son and SoftBank. In time, I believe Sprint will work through all of this and become a stronger company. They still have over 50,000,000 million customers.....

The after-market has S all the way down to $6.10. I believe the sell off is way overblown. We shall see, tomorrow, and in the coming days and weeks.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • According to several news reports, Sprint will abandon its plans to merge with T-Mobile. I believe this is a mistake. I see Sprint and T-Mobile together, as greater than the sum of their parts. I also believe it is (was) the only way for them (Sprint and T-Mobile) to compete on an equal footing with AT&T and Verizon. Maybe things will change, but it seems as though the merger plans are off. Very sad, very sad indeed, for all who own S. (melodias23 will be happy)

I have wondered for many months what the true value of S would be if there was no merger. Now, I will find out the answer to that question....

One more thing, for those of you who have read my posts. I have always believed that Sprint would make an offer for T-Mobile. I was wrong.

My money is on Sprint. It is the only company that can buy T-Mobile and compete on an equal basis with AT&T and Verizon. The only company....

    French company bid

Any company that buys T-Mobile will be faced with the same problem, how will T-Mobile effectively compete with AT&T and Verizon. There is only one exception to this problem, Sprint and T-Mobile together could compete.

Does anybody read what this guy has to say? When S is having a down day, I always see at least five to ten "ignored" posts at the bottom of my message board. I assume he writes the same thing over and over again. Regardless, it seems as though he is either some childlike person who lives in the basement of his parents home, or he genuinely get pleasure from other people's misfortune. I will "unignore" melodias23 if he responds to this post. I am curious as to why he does what he does.....

    Sprint & T-Mobile

Remember what happened with Clearwire. It wasn't easy, it wasn't cheap, and it took a long time, but Sprint bought Clearwire. Just like they set out to do.

Sprint will make an offer for T-Mobile. The offer from Iliad of France (for T-Mobile) might mean that the offer will have to be higher. It also might mean that the offer will be sooner. However, make no mistake, I believe Sprint will make an offer for T-Mobile. And, I believe, it will be approved by the regulators.

None of this means I am happy with what happened to S today....

Sprint announced 2nd quarter earnings this morning. Sprint made a profit of $.01 per share. For most companies, this would be bad news. For Sprint, any profit is very good news. Sprint lost less subscribers than anticipated, which is also very good news. All in all, a very good earnings report.

$7.77 (the bid at 2:45) will seem very cheap when Sprint announces a merger with T-Mobile. According to the latest report, this will happen in September. Whether it happens in September, or sooner, or later, it WILL HAPPEN. If the regulatory agencies involved approve the merger, S will seem like an unbelievable buy at $7.77. I believe there will be a merger and I believe it will be approved. This will happen for a variety of reasons. The number one reason is that it makes sense to allow Sprint and T-Mobile to merge in order to be more competitive with AT&T and Verizon.

Earnings should be announced about 8 AM this morning. (in about half an hour) At this point, I would be pleased if S closes above $8 today. I can't imagine Sprint will announce anything meaningful about the merger, but you never know. My hope is that earnings far surpass expectations and guidance (whatever it might be) is viewed favorably by the market.

This was quite a day for S. Earnings will be announced tomorrow before the bell. Hopefully, there will be information about the merger and Sprint's other plans. There was a story today that Sprint and T-Mobile will not announce a merger until September. Regardless, it was great to see an "up" day for our stock.

    Will S continue upward tomorrow?

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

S has plummeted to $7.72. The on again, off again, talk of a merger announcement seems to be "off again". On Wednesday, July 30th, Sprint will announce their 2nd quarter earnings before the bell. I can't see even great earnings causing S to rise much in price. I can see poor earnings causing S to go down even further. What I am looking for, is some sort of guidance including something about a merger with T-Mobile. As many of you know, I am convinced that Sprint will make an offer for T-Mobile. When that offer is announced, I expect to see S trade above $9 in short order. I do not know when that offer will be made. I do believe that offer WILL be made....
