The CEO owns a lot of stock and he will pay himself next year for tax reasons.
7:03 am Buckle announces a $1.20/share special cash dividend and a 10% increase in regular quarterly dividend to $0.22/share (BKE) : Co announced that at its quarterly meeting of the Board of Directors, held on December 9, 2013, the Board authorized a $1.20 per share special cash dividend to be paid to shareholders of record at the close of business on January 15, 2014.
The Board also authorized a $0.22 per share quarterly dividend to be paid to shareholders of record at the close of business on January 15, 2014. This represents an increase of $0.02 per share, or 10%, in the Co's regular quarterly dividend rate.
Both the $1.20 per share special cash dividend and the $0.22 per share regular quarterly dividend are payable on January 27, 2014 and will be paid together.
A $5.52 dividend went XD on 12/6. Was a bit of concern when I saw it this AM and the dividend was usually much lower. Still works out to a small gain instead of the huge loss I thought this was at first look.
Not going to happen this year, business has been rough or haven't you been following? If there is a small special div it will be paid early next year, not this year.
Is another head and shoulders (like the one in Feb) coming? Or will earnings snap this out of another one? Does anyone know exactly how much 3D business they do vs automotive?
I just got my letter offering to do the reinvestment option. They charge $25 per transaction to do this. If you started with 5 shares it would be pretty stupid to use this option because your dividend would be totally eaten up by the $25 transaction fee. I am still long the stock, but if I want more I will pay the $7 to Scottrade for the transaction.
Zero barriorso entry, go ahead and start your own business. Big bump after earnings!
I buy on every pull back. Average cost is $13.01. Today that is about a 20% cap gain plus the 7.7% dividend (based on my cost). Will continue to buy on any weakness. No worries, just buying ops. Some people think this bank is only NY, but it is also in many other markets that are starting to boom, like AZ.
There will be another surge of dividend collectors before the ex D date and another surge of ex D sellers. Nothing to be concerned about. All banks will surge with the steepening of the yield curve that will occur as the Fed eases out of the QE mode. It will hurt stocks in general for a while, but bank stocks will be the primary beneficiary so they should do better than the rest of the market. NYCB is a great place to just settle in and collect the dividend.
He posts all over IEP and now he posts here too. Must have bet against Ican and lost his shirt. I have reported him as an abuser to Yahoo. Maybe if enough other people do also we can get rid of this jerk! He must have lost (or is maybe still losing) a bunch for all of this anger. Do not reply to his postings, just ignore him and maybe someday he will go away.
I sold my shares today for $71.55. Made a nice profit and just put it in the bank. Now I will move on. HLF and IEP have been doing well for me.
Cramer had the CEO on so I "Did my homework" and it didn't come close to passing. A trailing PE of over 18,000!! Just one of many (yes the forward PE was less, but no where near anything I would invest in).
Avoid should ne an option instead of buy, sell, or hold.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
Instead of buying 3,000 shares why don't you use options? Yes you do have to pay a VIG, but there is a limit on your downside if you do get it wrong and you can leverage it with 30 contracts instead of laying down so much cash. Options on this stock are not very expensive if you are "out of the money".
There is a way to make money trading ESI. There was almost a $5 move in price today from the top to the bottom. Talk about a high Beta!
I had that same thought myself. Also could be some afraid of the quarterly results with not many buyers ready to step-up before the earning report. It could also be someone who is putting together the results telling other insiders or holders that things are not going to be so great (that happens, as recently demonstrated on Wall St.) I am way in the black on EW so I'll just roll with it.
It is just profit takers. We have had a nice run and some fools are exiting. The dividend was reconfirmed and results were great. No need to worry there will be more that pile in to collect the dividend and some will exit on the ex date, but I am long and enjoying the hefty dividend as the other longs do. Do not worry about daily fluctuations like this and just hold it forever.
Are you still short this too? I thought Ackman was slowly but maybe the price action was all the little shorts have been covering. You should join them before you get totally screwed. All the longs have no need to sell as we are all in the black and just watching this baby tread higher with glee.
I would not know what to do with myself if I lost 1% of $468M. But that is not HIS money and he did this before and got away with it. Maybe this will be the one that shuts him down. He is probably still calling everyone he knows in DC trying to get someone to start an investigation so he can cover. For now I will just sit on my IEP and HLF stock and collect the bounty that Carl's savvy WS mind brings.
I have often wondered if that was the case. Since he is such a narcissist I don't know if he could do that. But still, it does appear he may very well be doing just that. Maybe just avoiding as much blood as possible. If word gets out that he is trying to cover there will be few sellers.
