Have to admit, that is a great line.
Again, you don't know what you are talking about. The unfunded drug benefit was put in by G.W. Bush.
The core of Medicare is funded, as is Social Security. Not one penny of debt has been incurred by either program.
Now the defense department, that is where much of the debt was piled up from.
You are too fearful of change.
By the way, the intrusion of government, you mean beyond listening to every phone call, reading every text, reading every email, and keeping a complete history of my web activity, tracking my license plates as I drive, face recognition capture and recording in databases. More intrusive than that? The insurance companies already have 100% of your medical history.
Just how much more do you think the ACA intrudes?
The ACA has been on the air for 4 days. People have until 3/31/2014 to sign up.
The ACA only affects the uninsured, and the uninformed. Which are you?
We differ on this opinion. By your certainty of failure, while every other modern country has a national health care plan, you must believe that people in Japan, Germany, England, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Belgium are smarter than those in the USA.
You're fairly good at feigning concern.
If you want the WWII memorial open and NIH to open, call Boehner, tell him to let the Senate CR come to a vote in the House. No further negotiations needed.
We'll be running in less than an hour.
Can you do that for us?
When the ACA is a success, there will be little incentive to listen to anymore GOP nonsense that government cannot do anything.
That is the reason the GOP is willing to throw the world into a depression rather than have this ACA play out.
Is the ACA perfect? No, far from it. It still funnels way too many billions to private insurers.
The ACA will runway us into single payer.
We'll see. Today, Hilary polls +10% over every GOP numbskull out there.
In potential general election showdowns, the poll indicates Clinton leading Christie 49%-36%, topping Paul 53%-36% and beating Cruz 54%-31%.\\\
quinnipiac poll 10/2/2013
Mom and Pop's Grocery see a 1 cent increase on wholesale price of corn. Their selling price was .99. Do they raise to $1? Yes, according to you, always. Company's always pass 100% of price increase to customers. Axiomatic.
Same day Walmart across the street puts corn sign out: .98, regular price.
Do Mom and Pop pass on 1 cent increase? Stay at .99, Or drop price to .98 to match Walmart.
It hurts me to say this, but you aren't too smart, are you?
So much for your 'knee jerk' or should I say republican jerk mentality on costs and price.
You'll find story after story of Republicans who after signing up, realize that its a good program that benefits them.
Example, Alabama 27 year old, $160 a month. another:" ...Under Obamacare, when Matthews visits a doctor, it will no longer cost him around $150. It will cost $8."
This is what the GOP fears most: a successful ACA.
No, I'm not ignoring mental illness, rather I'm focusing on it.
As I've said: let the private sector do their job. Mandatory $10,000,000 liability. The insurance companies will require mental evaluation, notification of life events, permission to monitor credit history, employment status, marital status, health reporting.
We have to balance public safety against gun fetish behavior, which now, temporarily, is permitted.
First, this won't be too long of a time. Soon under Obama or the 8 years of Hilary Clinton, we'll replace one or two of the right wing nuts on the court. Once that happens, the 2nd amendment, the one that regulates militias, will be properly interpreted. The holy shrine of personal gun ownership will be dismantled. That will be good.
We'll move to Japanese model: long rifles only, with solid, effective regulation.
The idea that guns are a 'right' necessary to 'defeat the US Government' is childish and naive at best, psychotic at worse.
Gee, I just read that good pilots always have a flight plan. I guess if mediocrity is your hallmark.....
According the NRA, nothing should have stopped this woman from buying and carrying an assault rifle into this situation. An assault rifle with a 100 shot capacity.
My take is this person was probably suffering from a sever mental disorder.
I know it's popular among the ignorant to think craziness is a function of eduction. It is not.
Anyone can go crazy.
That is why we need periodic, intensive psychological testing of anyone that wants to own a gun or currently owns a gun.
Also, $10,000,000 liability police.
A gun movement plan needs to be filed, reviewed and approved, each time a gun is to be moved from a location.
Just like a flight plan for other potential lethal activities like flying a private airplane.
No one's rights will be abridged.
You are espousing the view that democracy can't be trusted. That is what the Koch brothers and the rest of your right wing insane asylum are working toward. Plutocracy. The tea party are the brain addled minions that do what their told, and refuse to think beyond the next 15 minutes.
The rest of us believe strongly in democracy: let the people decide.
The GOP knows this, yet they pretend it 'Freedom' to not be insured is most important.
Nonsense. The ACA is really simple: Everybody either gets insurance through their work, Medicare, Medicaid or a health care exchange: a level playing field marketplace.
The plans in the exchange must have a minimum level of services, so they can be compared easily.
If you don't have have insurance, you pay a fine, 1% of your income.
This mandate, making sure everyone is insured, is what funds the program for pre-existing condition acceptance. Otherwise, people will freeload, go to the emergency room, like they do now.
Luckily the GOP has utterly failed in stopping Obamacare.
Their worse nighmare is yet to come. By 2014 all will be working fine, millions will be insured, when they couldn't get coverage before.
The rallying cry at each new GOP idiocy. each new gut the middle class in favor of corporations move, will be: "You wanted to stop Obamacare too."
