Well, I did buy some. May sell some June covered calls. Sales have been flat this past year, and cash flow (ex-stock issue) negative. Kinda agree that it probably won't fall from this level. But it may just float for a while until they cut costs and show a profit. Sales are pretty strong. Greater than 1 Billion. I do have respect for Piper.
I asked him why not Apple. He said, 'Dad, nobody buys Apple anymore'.... That's interesting. I think the Samsung is too big. The younger crowd loves them.
They are committed to the position that Apple transferring/booking cash profits to Ireland is not tax avoidance. Of course it would cost AAPL a lot to 'repatriate' those $$. They would have to pay US taxes!!! haha. This is going to get big.
Well, you don't reduce production to increase demand. You decrease production (supply) from the higher cost mines to fit demand and help support the price. But that doesn't mean the price will rise. A lot of what happened to gold prices was due to the increase in other commodities, especially oil. In addition, the miners can reduce costs by cutting workforce, capitalizing on hedges, etc.
Yeah, someday the SEC will investigate them for insider trading. But they do hang strongly on their disclaimer that 'nothing they say or do is meaningful and should not be relied upon' ....
Remember, these dudes are actors. News casters. They know very little about real business or economics. They are paid to act as if they know what is going on. That is what attracts viewers. So if a stock is going up, they act like they knew it. And vice versa. Clowns, actors... nothing more.
and it would be like you leaving a tip at dinner. AAPL is hoarding cash because they know the worst is still ahead of us and there will be very cheap acquisitions on the table.
