Thanks again to S9 for identifying ACAD, my most profitable investment in ROI of all time! May God continue to Bless you!
I once owned a lot of ISIS, 10+ years ago and eventually gave up on Stanley and antisense after GNTA failed. I also sold out of MEDX before they turned around and were acquired. In the early 1990's I was selling CELG to my brokerage clients when it was a 300MM market cap co. No CELG for me unfortunately, or I would be retired.
On the flip side, I made some very fortunate exits in AFFY and DSCO. You gotta know when to hold em and fold em...and it's not easy. Still holding here only because some great ARNA investors/posters are communicating the value. Posters here succeed where ARNA execs are failing...in communications!
This stock is volatile and maddening, but I had a feeling it was going higher after the large option traded and turn in a weak market. This 10.47-10.5 is a key area. Let's see if it can hold or break through to $11.
oh mein Got, it's zher gut, or something like that. I think we are still waiting for Marianne...
I am going to keep recycling this message until the pumper recycling is stopped. When a great new message is posted, I like to bump it up as much as the next guy, but some people are bring up posts from weeks ago. It's old news and the price is still $4, so let's move on to something new. I love the Jack is retiring headline if only it were true. The stock was not up 50% today, so I know it was not so.
Even this once failed and near death biotech is coming back to life and look what they have in their partnering programs:
Boehringer Ingelheim International GmbH to research, develop, and commercialize small molecule GPR119
we will have to compare OI to know if they were open or close. One can buy to close, or buy to open. It could be a bet on volatility, or a hedge, who knows. I sent a note to option monster about the unusual activity.
2500 Dec 12 calls traded and 1231 Dec 9 puts traded. Just when I thought it was safe and the event was delayed. Dec $13 call still has a decent bid .25 and the Dec $11 and $12 are both bid at .40. IMGN is just a trading sardine, up 5% down 5%, but mostly down. CEO and BOD should be fired and ashamed.
Cut and paste from Fiercebiotech today:
Shire is quickly moving on after AbbVie's plot to buy the company for $55 billion fell apart last month, giving the Irish drugmaker a new lease on freedom and a $1.6 billion breakup fee for its trouble. Now CEO Flemming Ornskov, who has presided over 6 acquisitions in his brief tenure, is hinting at more deals to come, pointing to Shire's $4.5 billion deal for ViroPharma last year as a template for the future.
the question is, who are the shorts, BB's or a large hedge fund. If it's BB's it part of their exit strategy or risk reduction. If it's a hedgie/speculator, they have to be in a lot of pain. Bottom line, stock is very strong and it's looking like a potential acquisition target, just speculating based on the large rise.
Put pricing for the Dec puts is getting crushed, so it looks like someone know the Marianne news will be neutral, positive, or delayed beyond expiration.
I wanted to short PBYI, or buy puts, but it took a long time to decline and most of the puts would not have made money. Shorting biotech is really dangerous, they are all for sale at the right price, or time.
Foolish IMGN management and BOD could have sold for $20+ a year ago (speculating) now they would be fortunate to find a buyer to pay $15.
If they had retained a larger portion of the SAR naked antibody (future BB) Sanofi would want them. If Kadcyla/Marianne looks great Roche might put us out of our misery. Beyond these, BT or 289 are the next hope until we see more from 853.
For some reason, mainly competition, 529 does not seem to be a winner to me and I hope they don't pull a 901 and keep investing good money after bad. They need to pick one winner and get into fast speed and then try to license the others or just sell.
Here's a novel concept DIRTFT or stop screwing it up the first time. Mistakes, with drawls are really getting OLD!
yes, they have a drug and have run trials for Nash. ARNA has no idea if Bel works for NASH, of if the improvements are based on weight loss. Stop PUMPING NASH, it's not real/ less real than smoking and much leas real than type 2.
I'm highly annoyed and complaining, but do expect, or hope for an AVNR-like rise after the WS thugs make their money and have their fun like they did to AVNR (not that I ever owned or followed it closely).
