according to "the company" they were planning to sign the new CEO then negotiate deals 371 and more. The lack of signing a new CEO could mean they are selling the company, or trying to sell, or they are not having success signing a new CEO for a variety of reasons...Meanwhile, the interim exec HH and worthless BOD are being highly overpaid for doing nothing. It's maddening.
What a stupid post, companies don't give money back...How about this, It will come from lying shorts like you. Get lost and get a real job punk!
they better get the movie started, because the current movie is "escape of the short sellers" and "short sellers win again". I would love to see your new movie. I hope it's rated x for violence.
AXON does not have the cash to develop ARNA's full pipeline or the expertise to market the products once approved. ARNA needs to sell to a large pharma, or large, successful biotech. Not one of these junkey Japanese firms , or BI, a large, successful, top tier firm. If any company wants to offer $7-8 in cash, and can pay, I guess I really don't care about the name or size of the company...
You will participate in the AXON drug licensed from ARNA. ARNA has a much stronger pipeline and is a better value. Full Disclosure, ARNA is poorly managed, or mostly not managed at the current time. Still, I'll take the value in the long run and it's already been a long run for ARNA, value should be realized within the next 12 months, or sooner.
ARNA is a much better value, just poorly managed, which is concerning. At some point the value should be realized. Hopefully before I die, (physically, or financially).
they sold a bond for say 1000 and bought it back for 300, so how is this business income or operating? I'm not an accountant, just an MBA/finance person, but it seems to me this is just like shorting a bond at 1000 and covering at 300, which is a capital gain. Either way, I traded emails wit the company and like I said they are evaluating potentially selling something at a loss to try an offset any gain if they buy bonds back. With oil moving up they may not be able to get a great price or any size to buy.
agree the reps should use it and maybe they can put something in the ad if they ever run them again. Maybe we can use this to find a new partner and dump Eisai, they are a total failure as a commercial partner. Not sure this is IR worthy since it's retrospective data. Why did it take this long to find the data, these trials have been finished for 2-3 years no?
I think it creates a capital gain, which can only be offset by a capital loss, not an operating loss, so that's why they were thinking about selling 1-2 properties where they had a loss. I assume the properties they have identified to potentially sell are also not a good strategic match. I'm not for selling at a loss just to offset a gain, but holding a loser stock and then paying capital gains would not be much fun.
all 8 of you get back to work (or get out), ARNA needs some success (or cost reductions).
They have $100MM of approved liquidity/spending for buying back bonds. The problem with buying bonds back at a discount is the unit holders would have a tax liability. To offset this they may sell some properties at a loss.
looks like we have 12 shorts, or ARNA employees following the MB, get back to work!
yes, I'm sure they will provide more detail on the call, but I think you're on the right track as they have been trying to reduce costs. I'm thinking they should just change the corp structure to stock, so they can buy back their depressed bonds without hurting the unit holders and then maybe a sale?
