    A Propserous FNHC New Year!

I just wish to thank you for the continued amusement. It is amazing how little substance your last two posts offer. You provide innuendo, and it ends there. I look forward to another terrific earnings report later this month. Nothing that you have posted makes me the slightest bit nervous.

I believe that Ted Lawson has not been on the Board of Directors since 2008. Would you please shed light on how his listing his house for sale (I will take your word on this) has anything to do with the operations of FNHC?
The company and stock price fared well while Bruce Simberg was Chairman - why should an investor be troubled by his return?
    Thanks

I think penny has it right. Yahoo had listed $0.50 for 2016 for some time. I see $0.45 now.

You did not direct this to me, but short of a market collapse (which of course is entirely possible), I find it hard to fathom a drop to the $1.70s. Annual net earnings (outside of the investment in precision analytics of $5M) x a reasonable multiple (say 12)+ cash on hand (about $20M) puts the company at a value of about $1.70. Add patents and similar items puts you higher. To me, the share price above this is the anticipated value of Precision Ag. Just my two cents.

Friend - I did not mean to imply that I agree with Gallander. I love the move into Precision Ag. I think that this is potentially transformative for the company. I am looking for announced deals and for revenue in Performance Analytics in calendar year 2016.

Long since 2008. Added significantly in the summer of 2015 with proceeds from another investment. I like the steady leadership and the conservative yet strategic business development. I appreciate FNHC's success in the higher end market and wish to see this replicated through Monarch. I hope they will be more aggressive with Monarch in 2016, but I get a sense that they will still be somewhat tentative. I am guessing that 2017 will be the year that they push hard with Monarch. It sure seems that the iron is hot for them to try this year as they currently turn down such a high percentage of applications (85+%)

    Needham Presentation

The presentation set out 3 phases for Ag analytics growth. I hope that we hear more about Phase I contracts with the large multi-nationals within the next two quarters. I sense that these contracts would not represent trivial revenue, with room to expand substantially over time. I agree that demonstrating the value proposition is critical here. I think that we will see a meaningful ramp up in revenue in FY '17.

    Needham Presentation

50M+ acres under management at even a trivial 2 cents per acre would represent $1M or $250k/quarter. I haven't a clue what their average price per acre is, but a relatively small number would move the needle on the Ag component of their Performance Analytics business unit. Joe spoke optimistically again about making Performance Analytics as large as the other two units. Hitting $35-50M (with 80% gross margins) in the next 3-5 years would be very significant in terms of share price. All the while having the other two business units steadily growing.

Thanks for pointing the 70% figure out. That suggests meaningful growth in FY '17 in revenues, exclusive of Ag growth. Q3 and Q4 '16 should benefit a little from a catch up in performance analytics, which had some delays in Q2 per the last conference call.

Did a Cat 5 hurricane just sweep through Florida and I missed it?
FNHC has seen a 20% decline in pretty short order. I am pretty sure that their business model has little to do with the global price of oil or the fragility of the Chinese economy.

Quant - I think that RGEN had been priced for perfection and it stumbled in the second half of 2015.
They stopped development of their proprietary Protein A and I think that they have not yet released their single-use ATF (please correct me if I am wrong). They have not yet made another acquisition. RGEN has been hurt by the softness in bitoech and I think possibly by concerns about drug pricing.
I hope that 2016 sees an acquisition (they only strike when they see a good deal and a good fit), release of single-use ATF, and a resurgence of biotech. RGEN probably will continue to go lower from here for some time, but should fare well in the long run

Friend - How do you think these contracts are valued and over what rough time frame?
Of the $24M of new contracts signed in Q3, $9M was the Bay Area MTC and $6M was the USDOT contract.
This leaves $9M for the 5 CVIEW, 5 IPeMS, and 1 TransitHelper contracts.
I am curious as to their short-term (i.e. fiscal Q4) impact and possible annual run rate.
    Thanks

$24 million in new contracts in Q3.
Year over year growth of 52% in backlog in Transportation Systems.
Terrific growth in the backbone of the company.

Friend, I think that you are spot on. The fundamental operations of the company continue to grow steadily. This provides the financial foundation to develop the Precision Ag and connected vehicles segments. Iteris already has deals with several of the large companies in the Ag space. I am excited about the investor presentation on January 14. Any meaningful deal could springboard the share price.

I think a steady quarter. No surprises. Solid growth in policy count (245k). Solid growth in policies in net
    premiums earned ($67M).
I hope that FNHC expresses that it is prepared to grow Monarch.

If by old highs, you mean from 2000, I am willing to wait.
Seriously, I think that there are many irons in the fire: 10+ possible deals in Precision Ag, potential renewals and upgrades with 2015's new Ag customers, new consulting contracts, and on-going work in connected vehicles (a pretty hot sector by itself).
2015 was a productive year for ITI. I hope that it can turn this potential into reality.

  • biotechisfun biotechisfun Dec 24, 2015 1:40 PM Flag

Although he does see the price doubling (no time frame given), he offers a pretty tepid endorsement.
He seems to frown upon ITI's entrance into Precision Ag. IMHO, this is where the excitement for the company is.

One can never can go wrong banking some profits. I remain excited about the long-term prospects. Let's hope that they can close the deals referenced in the conference call.
Friend: you often seem to have great information (e.g. Bay Area MTC) that is tough to find.
How do you do it? I had not heard about the AZ bid. Hope to hear more info from you.
