Thanks Marilyn for your message.
I am sure that Ian Read is burning midnight oil trying to come up with a stimulant or catalyst that will invigorate Pfizer. How he makes use of the free Viagra at his disposal is for everyone to see. Read is being paid big bucks to move this Company forward. Watching grass grow is getting tedious. Something really constructive has to be done in a jiffy if we want to see the needle move upward. What is being contemplated is still a dark secret. Hopefully, it will benefit all shareholders.
Pfizer merging with some other large pharmaceuticals is not in its best interest. The Company should dedicate more of its time buying smaller and promising biotechs with decent pipelines. Pfizer has spent in the neighborhood of 200B dollars during the past fifteen years acquiring other large firms and are only worth 190B dollars today. What does this tell you?
No Company should buy for the sole reason of only getting bigger. Pfizer is big enough as is. It has to become more productive with what it has. It has to find ways to grow organically.
It's fine to go after AZN, but its price has to be fair. Over 100B is paying too much even though their pipeline may be promising. Only 25% of clinical trials make it to market. What Pfizer needs to discover is a cure for cancer and not a band aid.
Pfizer is a big company and as such needs a big discovery to move the needle northward. A new product bringing in three to five hundred million dollars per year barely moves it. Possibly a penny or so.
AstraZeneca is not worth more than 90 to 100B dollars to Pfizer. AZN is currently not on sale and I can't see why the moon should be offered for it. Sit still Ian and wait for the right opportunity. In the meantime, buy small biotechs with good potential and in the interim repurchase company shares.
I don't blame you one whit for being hostile towards Obama. Holding someone's welfare payment can be most frustrating. Fighting back like you're doing is the way to go.
The problem here is that no one feels sorry for you. You have opportunities like everyone else to better yourself through work, but you elect to collect pogey. Your attitude is that you don't give a hoot about the taxpayer so long as you get your weekly check.
Don't look to this board for compassion because you're barking up the wrong tree.
With the number of incessant and airheaded messages put through by sociopath "patriot," it's quite plain we're not dealing with someone having all of his marbles. He's one that should be completely ignored like many here do. The secret is to let him talk to himself.
Oh well, those that are not appreciated in normal conversation at large will resort to message boards for self gratification. They do it because they can hide behind their anonymity. Their minds don't work normally and as such will get under everyone skin to prove a point that doesn't exist. It's sickening.
Thanks icono for the commentary. You are right as rain about Bush. We all know he was all hat and no cattle.
Patriotforfreedom has been under his bed for quite some time and is not aware as to what is going on in the world. His mantra is to run down Obama being oblivious of the legacy Bush and Cheney left Obama with. When I think of Cheney, I can't contain my laughter. We all remember the hunting event in Wyoming. What we don't know is if he tried to make it look like an accident. (hehe) Anyhow, Bush and Cheney were gung-ho about wars, more or less like patriotforfreedom. You know, the type that wants others to fight for you.
I'm very much aware as to the many holidays patriotforfreedom's dumb friend took while in office. Bush was forever crossing the country going to his country home at the taxpayer's expense.
My remarks were made facetiously to elicit response from him.
Comparing Bush to Obama is like comparing you to Muhammad Ali. There are no similarities whatsoever. Bush wasn't qualified to be leader of this country whereas Obama is doing not a great job, but an adequate job under the circumstances. Why you were happy with Bush is quite mystifying, but it tells us much about yourself.
Your pal Bush didn't spend all that much time golfing and vacations because all of the money was spent on a useless war in Iraq. He broke the country and as a result nothing was left in the kitty for him to golf and go on holidays. You probably can't recall the war as you were more than likely hiding under your bed because of weapons of mass destruction. You're the type that loves wars so long as others fight for you. Put your money where your mouth is and join the forces. Quit pestering this board with your daily nonsense.
Can you imagine the sweet time Obama would have today if your friend Bush wouldn't have squandered two trillion dollars our citizens desperately need for education and infrastructure. Obama would need another ten years in power to right the wrongs of the previous administration. The economy and state of affairs are this bad, but light is finally starting to appear.
Your analysis of politics baffles me.
If the market were to experience a 15-20% correction, Pfizer's stock price would come down similar to GSK. So in essence, where's the benefit? Please explain, as I got lost in your logic.
It's not surprising at all. Pfizer is not more than a 28 to 30 dollar stock and there's currently no catalyst to move the needle any higher. Changing management will do absolutely nothing. Pfizer has to be more creative and build organically. I'm aware this takes time. Buying small biotechs is the way to go in concert with buying back their own shares.
Why does Hillary scare you? Is there something you know that we don't?
When she becomes our next President in 2016, I hope she sends guys like you to war. If you'd have been in Benghazi protecting our diplomats, you would have done something worthwhile for this country. However, you're one that sits on your fat ash and spend your time grousing and wants others to do the work for you.
Also, you're one that idolized Bush a lot, but you would have never spent one minute fighting for him. Where's your loyalty? Guys like you are a dime a dozen.
You are sick. Seek help. Every one here is convinced that you're deranged. Please show us that you're not. Your bellyaching about Obama serves no purpose. We all know you're a mental case.
Don't worry about Obama. He can look after himself. The guy you have to watch the most is you. Get a job. You will feel much better!
Yes, Ebola is spreading, but could it be that Obama wants to get rid of guys like you that has nothing to offer to remedy our sad state of affairs. You spend your time running the country down with never a solution. Obama is indeed a smart man!
AZ would have been a good move, however, having to dish out the moon for it was nonsense. Pfizer is better off looking for something else, whether it's overseas or here at home. There are other smaller companies available, however, the one you buy has to have the right fit and right ingredients.
You are right patriot. By running the country into the ground, Bush sure spoiled it for Obama. You're one of the few on this board that has ability to understand the headache Obama has in rectifying the miserable disaster Bush created.
