If it's good enough for them that's good enough for me. I added to my long position today,

Yeah, and that new guidance is below analyst estimates. Sorry, but the news out today is buttugly.
@@@@@Bob Shanks, Ford's chief financial officer, also said the company's 2015 pretax profit is now expected to rise to between $8.5 billion and $9.5 billion, versus analysts' estimates of $10.6 billion.
Why don't utilities offer to pay the railroaders higher transportation fees to prioritize their coal shipments over oil and grain? It's not like they're paying high prices for the coal to begin with, at least not these days anyway.
If you are going to invest in this technology (it's not superior to oled but I think it may have some cost-sensitive market opportunities in displays), don't you think it makes more sense to follow a leader like DOW who is producing materials using a license on Cd-free technology from NNOCF than invest in the penny stock QTMM a certain lunatic keeps pumping here?
@@@@@The Dow Chemical Company (DOW) has recently announced to start its own large-scale production of world’s first cadmium-free quantum dot electronic applications at its Cheonan South Korea site,. The unit, scheduled to commence production from the first half of 2015, will manufacture quantum dot televisions and related applications on a large scale to meet the increasing demand. Dow’s TREVISTA Quantum Dots will offer superior quality television display and is a better option for customers who want to shift from cadmium for a more sustainable appliance. Moreover, Dow will be using Nanoco’s proprietary molecular-seeding technology to increase production at the new manufacturing unit. The company’s business unit, Dow Electronic Materials previously entered into a global licensing agreement with Nanoco Group Plc on Jan 23, 2013 for Nanoco’s cadmium-free quantum dots technology. According to the deal, Dow Electronic materials had exclusive worldwide rights to sell, market and manufacture Nanoco’s cadmium-free quantum dots for use in electronic displays.
what exactly is the issue with rail transport in the upper midwest? Are the railroaders allocating their locomotives to haul oil and grain instead of coal?
Yeah, the news item I saw also listed the 2015 numbers but did not state if this was better or worse than previous 2015 guidance. So is it or isn't it?
I had hoped ECA would do that first with the existing assets before doing this latest acquisition. I'd rather have seen them deliver first, boost the divie, then expand further into oil.
Not missing any numbers? Are you insane? How is this not a guidedown?
@@@@DEARBORN (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co (F.N) has lowered its expectation for pre-tax profit this year to $6 billion, from its previous forecast of $7 billion to $8 billion, the automaker's chief financial officer told investors on Monday.
The only recent news I've seen is that ABBV is looking to issue additional debt to finance the deal. No idea what the tax consequences of the buyout will be for SHPG shareholders. Wow $11 cost basis? Mine was $13. I ended up with SHPG shares when they bought out Roberts Pharma way back in the late 90's. It's been a great stock and I expect ABBV will continue the run with this acquisition.
@@@@@AbbVie Inc. (ABBV) is examining plans to raise additional financing to complete its takeover of Shire Plc (SHP), after U.S. officials imposed new obstacles to so-called tax inversion deals, people with knowledge of the matter said. AbbVie may seek to borrow as much as $7 billion more than it originally anticipated because of new restrictions on using cash held offshore, two of the people said, asking not to be identified discussing a private matter. The deliberations are at an early stage, and are part of a comprehensive review of the Shire transaction’s structure after U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew announced measures to make inversions more difficult this week, the people said.
Decided to sell my holdings last Friday and started a long position in ABBV. If the deal falls through I will buy back some SHPG. I figured this was a good way to lock in some profits and reduce risks while maintaining exposure to the firm (assuming the deal goes through which is quite likely imo). I hold this in an RRSP so don't face any tax consequences.
Haha Mr. BTC2Zero wants to get in at $50. Why would you pay anything for something you think has zero value?
Still waiting for that famous BTC to zero call of yours to materialize. I mined my BTC for free and LTC too so no worries.
If my sentiment on a stock's prospects have not changed but the expected price movement has not occurred yet, I generally roll my leaps out six months before expiry to minimize time decay costs.
