NewCo is the generic name give to companies that are yet to have a name. It doesn't describe one specific company so much as a scenario.
After the volumes we have seen since the announcement, this is significant and it doesn't suggest more easy upside. There are no fundamentals or technicals to hold it up. Which leaves two possibilities: it is being manipulated or it is going to drop.
This may need some tweaking; I'm going from memory. Didn't RFMD's last purchase cost them $900 million while RFMD remains valued the same as before? A billion here and a billion there; first thing you know, you're talking about some real money.
dbr, you CAN make sense. Sometimes. What's happening to price now may very well be warranted in 2 to 3 years.
I have driven in Silicon Valley. It takes some of those people 2 hours to get to work and 2 hours to get home. Work to home in Greensboro can be 10 minutes. Also, today, "home is where the laptop is."
You say that with much authority. Even Though labor is relatively inexpensive in NC--far below anything on the west coast-- some production has already moved to China. Also, homes in NC are about 1/4 what they are in Silicon Valley.
And, as any idiot can see, on technicals, and fundamentals such as they are, it has run out of steam. Nothing can move it higher without convincing news. If history has taught us anything, if RFMD can't move higher, it always moves lower.
You need a reality check. This stock has been running on air since the merger announcement. Neither company, all of a sudden, started making money. And, you want a Newbie to buy a bubble? Stop embarrassing yourself.
Do I have this correct. You held stocks for years, took the risk and made nothing until recently. Why?
This may help to explain why no one will talk to dbr this morning. Even my charts stopped working at 10:15 this morning. dbr can't buy a friend today.
I don't know specifics for RFMD but electric power has been off in Greensboro for about 3 days. Duke Energy has 4,300 people on the job restoring power. Most should be back by now.
If anyone bought RFMD in the last decade and held it until now waiting for a comeback, I don't think we could carry on a conversation since they are from "another planet." From where I found myself in 2000, I'm up 11 times over and that ain't bragging. It would have been more if I weren't so shell-shocked and conservative.
