Part of a PR 3 Dec. 13:
Hong Kong has confirmed its first case of the new strain of the H7N9 bird flu in a domestic worker from Indonesia.
The worker, 36, recently travelled to Shenzhen in the mainland and came into contact with live poultry. She is in critical condition, officials say.
H7N9 has infected more than 100 people since it emerged earlier this year.
The case in Hong Kong is a sign that the virus may be spreading beyond mainland China, where most infections have been reported, and Taiwan.
The World Health Organization (WHO) had said there was "no evidence of sustained human-to-human transmission", but also described H7N9 as an "unusually dangerous virus".
At least 139 human cases of H7N9 have been confirmed, including 45 deaths, WHO says in a statement dated 6 November.
At least one case was confirmed in Taiwan in April.
Dr Ko Wing-man, Hong Kong's food and health secretary, confirmed the territory's first H7N9 case late on Monday.
He said that the patient "has a history of travelling to Shenzhen, buying a chicken, slaughtering and eating the chicken".
"She is now in critical condition at Queen Mary Hospital," he said, adding that four people in close contact with her were showing signs of flu-like symptoms.
Hong Kong is now on public health alert and has suspended the import of live chickens from some farms across the border with the mainland.
H7N9 is a type of influenza virus that normally circulates among birds and has not until recently been seen in people, the WHO says.

Early Data Show Positive Results For Novel Respiratory Virus Vaccine. The AP (7/3) reports, “Novavax Inc. on Tuesday reported positive results from an early clinical trial of a respiratory virus vaccine” intended to prevent respiratory syncytial virus. According to Novovax, “the vaccine was linked to increased antibody responses — a sign that the vaccine was having an effect against the virus — in all groups of patients. The company said side effects occurred at the same rate in patients treated with the vaccine and patients who were given a placebo. Patients also received a seasonal flu vaccine, and Novavax said the trial results suggest it could develop a combination seasonal flu and RSV vaccine.”

Take a search on the 2013 Tucson Fuel Cell Hyundai and you will find you can get one now. Hyundai has a web page just for the 2014 Tucson. Mazda3 has the QTWW tank and was at the Toyko Auto Show yesterday.
It will be a long time before we know: Richard Li is now in charge.
The WS-J quoted a spokeswoman for Hybrid Technology, parent company of Hybrid Tech Holdings, as saying it was “committed to building upon the Fisker legacy and presence in the United States as a foundation for the design and manufacture of advanced hybrid electric vehicles.
So fear not, the use of compressed natural gas as a motor fuel— from compression, storage and fueling to vehicle manufacturing—must meet stringent industry and government standards. And it’s all in the name of clean, efficient and utterly safe motoring.
Natural gas vehicles are very safe, for not only do they have all the same standard safety equipment as conventional cars (passive restraints, air bags, head restraints and anti-lock brakes), but they are subjected to the same crash safety tests as well.
Because compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems operate at pressures in excess of 3000 PSI, the fuel tank and associated plumbing have to be incredibly rugged and strong enough to contain that pressure. The on-board tanks are made of steel up to one half-inch thick and often wrapped in protective reinforced fiberglass sheathing. Plus, newer tanks are constructed of polymers and composites that are stronger than steel.
Contrast this with standard gasoline and diesel tanks in regular vehicles. These tanks are usually made from stamped steel shell halves, just a few thirty-seconds of an inch thick, that are welded or crimped together. In the event of a traffic accident, the ability of rugged, durable CNG tanks to withstand rupture or puncture certainly exceeds that of simple stamped steel.
But the safety of NGVs doesn’t just stop with the robust construction of the fuel tank. To take it a step further, most CNG systems have automatic release valves. In a situation of excessive heat or pressure build-up, the valve will open and release the gas to the atmosphere—and since it is lighter than the surrounding air, it will rise and dissipate. The low threshold is set well above ambient temperatures and the high threshold is set well below the ignition temperature of the gas. In the event of a fire, the fuel is safely evacuated from the car before it ever has a chance to catch fire. Gasoline and diesel vehicles simply can’t do that.
A manual shut-off valve also exists just downstream from the CNG tank to allow user intervention if the need arises. A neat side benefit of this valve might be the ability to use it as an anti-theft device. Shut off the fuel supply and any would-be thief wouldn’t get much further than a mile.
Mazda. Just put Mazda in the "Search Message Boards", Current Board and you will find the subject covered well a few weeks back by several posteres on this board..
Thanks - here's some more from that article:
The complete article is over on azonano site. Lot of great info. E.g.,:
BASF will showcase its advanced metal organic framework (MOF) solutions for the transportation industry at the 2013 North American Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) Conference & Expo , taking place Nov. 18-21 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
(paragraphs in the article)
Currently, BASF is focused on commercializing MOF solutions for the transportation industry. The company has developed patented MOF materials that allow for the increased storage of natural gas, offering the potential to significantly increase vehicle range or to operate fuel storage tanks and natural gas compression systems at lower pressures.
BASF is partnering with several technology, development and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to pilot the use of MOF materials for enhanced natural gas storage in vehicles in Europe, Asia and North America.
Demonstration vehicles equipped with natural gas fuel systems containing BASF MOF materials were introduced in 2013, and a heavy duty Kenworth truck up-fitted with BASF’s energy storage technology will also be on display at the NGV Americas conference. The storage system on this class 7 T440 truck utilizes a Type IV natural gas storage pressure vessel, designed and up-fitted by Quantum Technologies , a leader in the development and production of integrated natural gas fuel storage systems. The demonstration truck is also equipped with a BASF natural gas emissions catalyst.

As posted earlier Mazda will be at the Tokyo Motor show - here's some add on to that (don't forget that Madza is in India too):
Mazda has announced plans to show a CNG version of the all-new Mazda3 next month at the Tokyo Motor Show. (Nov 22 2013)
Approximately two weeks ago Mazda revealed a hybrid version of the Axela/Mazda3 Hybrid and now they are previewing a CNG concept Mazda3 which will be showcased towards the end of November at the Tokyo Motor Show. The concept will feature a dual fuel system so it will be able to run not only on gasoline but also on compressed natural gas.
Mazda says only minor modifications were necessary for the conversion since the firm's SKYACTIV-G gasoline engine already has a high compression ratio which is necessary since CNG engines burn fuel at a higher pressure. The Japanese marque mentions CO2 emissions should drop by 20 percent compared to the regular gasoline-powered Mazda3 which can be had in hatchback and sedan body styles.
ZHRO is mentined in that filing - take a look at their site - it has changed. Here's the front page:
