Agree, very nice/smart move. PR can definately raise the level of awareness across the investment community. Something that SD has never paid attention too in the past. In fact, it seems SDs approach was to respond to whatever fire alarm analysts/critics decided to pull!
I think there are alot of investors who have no clue who SD is beyond the occasional negative talking head comment. It's all about SD's assets! The rest of SDs game plan validates the potential as each quarterly is reported and under new leadership, we see a potentially very profitable little company in the making!
All IMHO of course!
of ASSETS as DDD expands its vertical and horizontal grip in this newly WIDENING TECHNOLOGY that up until now has been focussed on the professional & manufacturing level yet appears to ba taking GRIP at the consumer level BECAUSE ITs COOL and economy of scale will make it cheaper and cheaper for the consumer going forward!
Lets face it, with rev and earnings growth pegged at the high 20's to low 30's next year.....well, that sure doesn't include recent strategic purchases and the benefit of any synergy created as well as.....reduction in cost of operations/ new profit centers that it appears DDD has gathered of late!
SHORTS look really good looking back through the rearview mirror but going forward.....um....well maybe a DEER in the HEADLIGHTS! All IMHO of course..........
Thanks CELG! .............and you might want to take a look at CTIX...it seems they might be a nice asset to add to the GELG product line! Seems some promising phase 2 data is in hand with phase 2b in Jan.'14.
Just an idea, food for thought......lets fill those CELG sails in 2014! All IMHO...and nothing more....
FORGOT...and yes I own some....this is not in anyway a solicitation for anyone to buy or sell. CTIX is a very risky consideration and lets face it, phase 2 and phase 3 can be the dead end (and is more often than not) for such startups leading to a big fat, ZERO!
I apologize for bringing up another stock on this board but I sincerely think this is a company/technology that can add to CELG's medical kit ! Of course for all I know, CELG may already be hunting in these woods with competing technology/products!
i call bs....you are starting to sound like a SHORT sitting in the "HURT ROOM" or, a disgruntled former employee.
Perhaps you should review the evolution of nearly EVERY DISRUPTIVE technology that has come along with numerous players elbowing one another for space and success and franjly, ultimately, survival.
Just one quick example for you. At the dawn of the auto mobile, the US had at its peak, some 60-70 US auto makers....today, there are only 3 majors...with a 4th trying to emerge into the sunshine, Tesla. The consolidation of the auto industry was fast and brutal.
DDD is a momo...SHORTS are getting scalped as you read this...just like a few other flyers from 2013 that have habded SHORTS their heads as the momo got the gogo ! all IMHO of course...
Reducing one's competition by buying his competition is an age old phenom, not unique to this sector at all.....3D is in its infancy....no one knows what direction this sector will take except to say this, its application will expand as will its capabilities........and in the end, I wouldn't be surprised to see ZERO stand alone 3D operators except possibly, a few consumer level sellers.
Especially given the mega-industrials like GE, BA, CAT, to name a very few who could wade into this sector, swallow it, and grow it internally toward their own end.
Thus the notion of a few small//totally consumer oriented operators.
Then again, DDD is striving to become that stand alone mega player in this sector and could GE itself by divisioning out to meet pro/manuf./and consumer needs with many overlaps/thus cost reducing structures.
We will see, this is going to be fascinating to watch! All IMHO of course!
Watching 3D expand its applications and capabilities is going to be fascinating.
One question!? What kind of energy demands does 3D currently pose on the growing process? Thanks, Boar
In the spirit of matching your misdirection & sarcasm, perhaps the 3D industry will begin "printing" dollars and bit coins.............anymore questions? LMAO!
Some of the SHORTs are likely the Hedgies merely protecting a long position. There are however, others who have gotten fat, dumb, and lazy by taking for granted SD won't break the choke hold. With COOPs talk as well as a more positive outlook for SD....smart SHORTs will start to ween themselves off of the SD teet!
I expect to see SD hit a higher trading range in the 7's with upward pressure as SD begins to make progess in the MIDCON and I still think SD is on more than a few radars with consolidation/gathering of assets in mind for both the MIDCON and the GULF assets once the news justifies it.
If this news comes to fruition, then the SD price goes up easily beyond the 10 buck firgure being thrown at the walls right now.
All IMHO ........
WILL, more than double to the 12+ range IMHO!
As long as the MIDCON cost controls are maintained, and production continues to more than cover the costs, SD will be raking in some nice cash...thus increasing cashflow on an accelerating basis.
If the GULF turns into the enromous reserve it is suspected to be, with the help of one of the big boys technology to validate such, SD will run much higher as awareness/realization spreads throughout the investment/oil-ng community. At this point, I think SD gets swallowed by one of the big players in a price range of 16 to 20 IMHO!
Alot of if's and maybe's....but so far, despite being ignored by Wall Street (except for the likes of TPG and COOP+ Friends) , it seems SD's direction is obvious to even the most casual of observers! Again, all IMHO !
Sentiment: Strong Buy
..and MSFT and ORCL were born on IBMs skepticism but more importantly, on IBM's total lack of foreward looking CONSUMER/HERD like momentum!
Coster at NO POINT, addresses the consumer level of momentum building as I type this message board blurb. Mr Coster.....3D technology is JUST NOW inching in on CONSUMER AWARENESS. I hope the next time you consider this sector, that you consider the many needs/fascinations, and thus profit centers it can create going forward. Don't spill your coffee on your suit this morning, better yet, please do so, the wake up it will give you is grossly overdue. All IMHO.........
3D...is in its infancy. This is a really rare opportunity for investors of all degrees of experience to "catch the wave" so to speak. How it all shakes out and over what period of time is anyones guess. However right now, there is essentially one player within the sector making a move and that is DDD. Again, how it all shakes out is anyones guess.
The mere fact that several of the BIG players are USING DDD says alot for DDD. GE, NIKE, aviation in general along with the medical industry have all used DDD and GOOG just contracted w/DDD as well.
It seems the INDUSTRIALS are finding their needs met by an every GROWING and EXPANDING DDD so along with the natural improvements to this technology, its capabilities and APPS, DDD has a nice MAP planned out for itself.
Now enter the consumer. Anyone that knows of the Victoria Secret MODEL who used a 3D machine to MAKE and then MODEL her outfit/costume, (whatever!) must see the writing on the wall! The possibilites for this technology are ENDLESS and CONSUMER AWARENESS is just now starting to show its presence, JUST NOW!
The "tsunami" is coming and will continue as uses, apps, and capabilities break out to fill the demand/needs, etc.
Naysayers have chosen to follow the same approach toDDD that IBM took toward the PC which, ultimately gave birth to APPLE and MICROSOFT and SO MANY PERIPHERALS................SHORTs......its your $$....and 2014 is just about to turn on its open for business sign! All IMHO of course....
Industry estimates for this year are to more than double last years sales of approx. 35k units. This sector is growing GEOMETRICALLY and DDD is positioned to take advantage of this disruptive technology and the growth we shall all see going forward! All IMHO of course!
is yapping at your ankles and while years away, 3D technology will catch and then surpass current CHIP makers like a herd of elephants stomping through a dried corn field!
Which of course, leads to the following question, are there any BIG CHIP MAKERS who wouldn't want in on this action?
I mean folks, once the circuitry questions are solved we can move right on over to further miniaturization.................with a camera, a smartphone, smart home appliances, security items, weapon systems, rockets........surveillance equipment, laptop, drone, simply put, there will someday be no limit other than ones imagination as to what issues 3D printing will play a major role in.
Simply put, it doesn't seem that 3D technology faces any finite issues or put another way, the possibilities/apps are infinite.
Picture if you will, a room sized version of todays small desk top consumer model 3D printers. Surround that room with material stores/feeders....now place a half dozen synchronized printer nozels on each of all four walls and the ceiling and floor as well. Any questions!? LOL!
Sorry, way ahead of myself there but it should not be a question of how or why but rather a question of why
not!? All IM (caffeine pinging) HO !
Typically taxes or diversification but events like a childs wedding/college/a new home...medical reasons/bills and a host of other reasons.......these days CHARITY seems to be attracting more donations.....but 25k shares from a guy who owns over 1.5 million shares is a none-event in my view!
I hope he uses some or all of those funds to reward himself, his Family, and/or his causes!
Also keep in mind, restricted shares like I will guess these 25k shares are....require a filing and it looks like the price must have gone up between the time he filed and the sale! Good for him!
All IMHO of course....and definately not a red flag IMO !
the operative words being "....years away...". But hey, why pay attnetion to the detail? The fact of the matter is that "chiplets" (as they are called) are already being researched......and i sure don't know how far away this technology is....oh and neither do you! LMAO! rest assured, when it comes to be, there will be a major shift in tech, once again!
How that shift adds up, I couldn't even begin to guess but there is onething Iam sure of and that is that you have no clue either! However, it is fun reading the sentiment of someone who implies that it can not be done! LMAO!
20 some new or upgraded, or reintroduced models, a pension plan funding that moved WAY AHEAD of the CROWD in 2013......and a expected relatively flat year do to new roll outs is well.............kind of like watching F RELOAD and go hunting for more BEARs/naysayers/ and hedgie dolts! LMAO!
2014 is upon us and while history shows there will be some further adjustments needed on new or upgraded models, history also shows us there will be more than a few HOMERUNS!
I expect we see F in the low 20's by 2014 year end with a nice dividend increase in 2015 as the pension issue goes away altogether!
The F sell-off has been WAY OVERDONE ..IMHO!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
3D to be the hot issue. This bodes well for DDD and some others that can wow, the average observer unfamiliar with this technology and the strides it is taking.
Saw someone touting CNC verses 3D and I say this, it is perfectly okay! You see CNC is to 3D what the buggy whip was to the auto industry. Successful investing often requires LOOKING FORWARD verses running in place or worse, looking backward! LMAO!
All IMHO of course OH AND ONE MORE THING...when one reviews expected 2014 and 2015 earnings, this data does not include any accrued earnings the recent purchases DDD has made and is likely to continue making. Of course there is cost involed in this process and accrual is seldom immediate but its coming! again, all IMHO !
To SHORTs......I say wow, one can be bold dodging freight trains but slipping just once will cost said train dodging daredevil, at least a leg if not everything. Crazy notion when one considers the number of eroding stocks out there waiting for the buzzards to arrive.
