will feel as they come to realize the stuff of movies can now sit on there counter/desktop/workbench!
It is this shcok and awe phenom that is going to drive sales at the consumer level, and the good news is that technology is fast expanding the capabilities the consumer will have over time!
Like the music industry that offered up the reel to reel, then the 8 track, cassette, cd.......each passing evolution of improved delivery system/technology creates a repeated auience of consumers! Not to say this would be deliberate but rather, that is the genesis of mass producing each new generation of 3D printers!
The exciting aspect of this technology is that it is seriously unknown amongst our consumer ranks holds great promise for investors as we click toward hitting critical mass which I suspect is about a 1 to 2 year ride away! By then, capabilities of these printers will be more attractive than today! To add, economy of scale will bring hardware/material etc., costs down from today as well.
3D is will continue to expand in every concievable way going forward!
Needless to say, I am as excited about this opportunity as I was back in the MSFT-ORCL days when the average consumer was willing to fork out 4k or more for a computer that couldn't even offer up todays average graphics on any random site!
Its nice to buy and own the grazing fields before the HERDs move in! ALL IMHO of course!
the naysayers that I have read on this board are dolts. I haven't read one credible criticism. DDD has next to zero debt, it is expanding, its apps are expanding, its customer base is expanding, whats not to like!? Oh sorry, I guess if one is SHORT, the lazy mans position, then that person is not happy! LMAO! OUCH!
Go read 3D feedback on AMAZON to see what the gidget/gadget guys are doing.....folks can get into a 3D set-up for between about 1200.00 to 2000.00 right now. I won;t YET, because the evolution of expanding capabilities/speed etc. have yet to make the technology as broadly appealing as it will be as time marches on.
Meanwhile the FOX haters, Cramer haters, and DDD haters all seem to be swinning in the same pool of #$%$ and it is obvious they are SHORT and are losing $$$ with each uptick.
Bad news SHORTs! This is a momentum stock that is just now benefiting from increased awareness of mometum investors and those gidget/gadget guys who want to be first and either have a printer or are busy sizing one up! MOVE ON SHORTIES..........the wind is picking up! All IMHO of course!
ORGANOVO , NOV 8, 2013..........just printed a miniature human liver that made it 40 days. I'll take that for a radical first step in the right direction!
Inventors exist because people like you sit back and say it can't be done! LMAO!
I hear what you're saying....mainstream america has no clue what 3D printing is and, remind your boss to never place you in charge of a challenge that requires the abiliy to look forward !
3D printing as you so aptly point out, has been around for a long time, so long that it is just now going mainstream and out to the consumer. Our first consumer level PCs were actually little b etter than a fricking word processor and look where we are now!
Necessity is the mother of invention and now that the cat is out of the bag so to speak regarding 3D printing and all met with improving technology and choice, you are playing dumb if you don't think this concept will take off! LMAO!
You hail from the IBM/warren Buffet crowd that couldn't see the attraction a PC might have for the average consumer. As I mentioned before, this is what gave birth to GATES and JOBS......and 3D technology is about to give birth to new versions of Gates and Jobs who unlike you, can see this technology in nearly every household...........that wants it!
Of course as this 3D technology broadens what it can offer......well, the more people there will be who can see a practical use..............and economy of scale will bring prices down. Again I hear you....and I totally disagree with your implied assessment of where this is headed..... . I suggest you go to Amazon and read the consumer reviews of their 3D printing experiences and what they used their printers for..........this should give you a sense of the tidal wave that I think this technology is about to create..............but hey, you might be right! LMAO...but I sincerely doubt it!
Needless to say, I am excited about the potential of 3D and specifically, DDD. The onething I forgot to mention in my bliss, is the concept of CRITICAL MASS. In earlier posts I mentioned the HERDs have yet to see or even really understand what 3D printing is! They will get educated on site at some craft show or o TV or online at some site BUT...its really gonna strike home when a neighbor tells his neighborhood he can 3D CUSTOMIZE their Daughters wedding rings for the price of the gold...it's coming!
The gidget and gadget players who clung to JOBs/aapl and tech in general are going to want the biggest, the best, that is avaliable to the consumer! CRITICAL MASS has yet to take this industry to the otherside of the rainbow IMHO, but its coming!
IMHO...the 3D printing sector will undergo some consolidation but not before some more buyouts occur and i think maybe, BIG buyouts, DDD being one of those targets in that it offers up a best of breed ( to borrow from Cramer!) status IMO.
Next to zero debt....growth forecasts that are so potentially big, it is useless to try and anticipate since we have several sectors that could benefit in a big way by making their own components to even their own finsihed product. Aviation, tech, mobile comm, and well really, ANYTHING!
Lets face it, a company ( in Texas) was just given a grant to 3D food items! For a trip to mars perhaps, for disaster areas here on earth when such occurs, to address famines etc., etc.
3D is as radical to our future and the change it brings, as the airplane, auto, telephone, PC, cell phone, smartphone, laptop, notebook etc., etc., WHICH by the way, all today, use some products (or soon will) from 3D printing.
I haven't even mentioned the medical strides 3D has made and will continue to make. Go google URBEE 2 and see the first 3D printed car that averages HUNDREDS of miles per gallon and can/will drive acorss the US!
Disruptive technologies like this are once in a lifetime opportunities, alot can change in a short while, there will be a host of losers and a bevy of winners. EVERY INDUSTRY I can think of can and ultimately will someday benefit from 3D printing and I think DDD is one of the players that will be around for a long time to come either on its own or bought out and absorbed. All seriously only IMHO................its coming and, it will use energy! See energy sector for longer term plays right now! again...IMHO !
Growth. Accelerating earnings growth anticipated to move from 17% to over 20% looking forward. Additional stores/China/India/US....a recovering Europe......and TEAVANA which I think surprises in India and elsewhere.....look even the median 12 month stock price is 89..... between analysts.....stocks are supposed to trade based on expectations, SBUX continues to surprise and I think next earnings furthers my opinion!
All IMHO of course!
to 95.00 range as I type this.............naysayers are ingorant of the season and little comments like Black Friday shopping experiences CNBC talking heads (or was it Fox Business? Can't remember!) when it was mentioned that the longest line they saw was at SBUX!!!!
Tis the season for SBUX! IMHO !
To the naysayers, DDD is already contracted to make PRINT components for Google.....they do alot of work for GE.......can you imagine if Steve Jobs or Bill Gates had access to MAKE their own PC components?
Economy of scale will kick in as proliferation takes place and the bar will keep being raised as each NEW APP comes along aloowing the guy at home to do more and more and, to do so at declining costs!
All IMHO of course....oh and if its cheap enough for a GE to make....it must be because they make and need ALOT of whatever's! Oh hey, there goes that economy of scale thing right in front of you! LMAO !
3D printing is a game changer!
i MERELY MEANT THE DAY WILL COME WHEN ONE CAN PRINT A CHICK! LMAO! Hey if you don;t see the potential, thats okay! IBM and Warren Buffet didn;t see it either way back when.......when Steve Jobs and Bill Gates did! LMAO!
3D printing has already made a car, a functional AR-15.....w/mags.......a functioning LIVING LIVER.......but hey....you start a fire rubbing two sticks together too so why use a match or a lighter!?
There is no limit to what 3D printing can do! If you are focussed on chatzkes, then you are MISSING THE BALL!
Take a look at what DDD is already making for GE, NIKE,....the medical industry!
Oh and the low end consumer 3D can make chatzkes..but this too will elevate as the technology/material availability improves.
I living LIVER.....is that a chatzke!?
Your view echoes (literally), of the likes of IBM and Warren Buffet who saw no application for a PC in every home across america back in the 1980's! Which of course, gave birth to MICROSOFT and really, the ENTIRE TECH industry that we know today! OOPS!
Stop being a wooden ship loyalist and see the palace through the trees! all IMHO of course!
Hey bonehead, 3D printing has already "printed" a minature, LIVING LIVER...google it since you seem smart enough to do so. Oh and hey, guess what, those farmers you're talking about, well, they might end up 3D printing their chickens and eggs...........hammer that one onto your rearend like an unwanted tatoo because YOU DID IT TO YOURSELF ! LMAO! Clearly YOU dont understand this disruptive technology....why don't you try reading up on medical apps, aero, nautical apps.....etc., etc.!?
Oh and when you see that CRAFT person MAKING jewelry at the local MALL during the Holidays.....please say to yourself GEE, I should'a done my homework and bought some 3D printer since they are THEEEEEEEEEE disruptive technology entering the frey......................better yet, sit on your thumb! LMAO!
A renaissance in US manufacturing is fast approaching thru 3D PRINTING....this disruptive technology requires ENERGY and, raw or fabricated material sources (that also use oil/ng actually in the product, example, plastics today). However, the 10 ton elephant in the room is manufacturing overseas! China is just getting started so proliferation of said 3D manufacturing is probably 2 years away and, this technology will ramp up with time to meet demand of new applications, larger applications etc.
Not to overlook demand at the consumer level from home hobbiests, crafters, etc.
This bodes well for the US with its abundance of NG but it is also a GAME CHANGER because as transportation demands continue to increase (and we are just now scratching the surface demand wise for NG) we now see manufacturing at all levels increasing and in some cases, returning to the US.....for instance DDD makes via 3D pritning, items for GE/NIKE, and soon GOOGLE!
While the 3D craze is just now getting headlines, the consumer is still a demonstration (at a craft show or some similar event) away from believing the potential of 3D printing!
ENERGY demand will parallel this growth especially as the auto/truck industry begin to seriously ramp up their hybrid gasoline/NG vehicles such as the 2014 GM Impala and the F 2014 F150........this bodes well for the energy industry, and SD should benefit as well, and perhaps in a bigger way than is currently understood, IE.................its all about the assets!
Soon craft shows, jewelry stores, auto parts/garages...and countless other end users will educate the American consumer to this DISRUPTIVE technology! Assembly lines across our manufacturing will mainly be tightening this component or adding/tightening that component (all made mind you, by 3D printers). This brings manufacturing BACk to the US in large part and it also means cost of the finished product will be less assuming friendly energy costs AND..the raw materials involved.
it seems many 3D printers have their own proprietary materials so this would lead the next generation printers in the future at some point.
Meantime the DEMAND for natural gas/oil (and other natural resources) will continue to feel upward pressure as this radical new technology takes root from coast to coast. Hewlett is also going to enter the game, this is right up their alley, a proprietary material hog like HP once did with their ink................well, the consumer product will be a give away like todays printers and the cost will be for the materials just like printer ink cartridges are today!
Enjoy the price run, at some point proliferation will take over but I think we have an easy 2 years before thos occurs. Meanwhile we will continue to hear of more corporations like GE, NIKE (both who already use DDD 3D printers) and MOMENTUM PRICING will drown out skeptical shorts who are once again, wrongly focussed on the MICRO instead of considering the MACRO and this new DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGY!
Gee, do you think people can start making their own simple boats now! Its coming! How about drones? One guy already 3D printed himself an AR-15! Except for size and materials, there are ZERO LIMITS to what 3D printing can do! One company is even printing live organs! COME ON! Seriously!
This is an unbelievable technology. All IMHO of course!
or covered call writers grab their paddles and start covering forcing FB price up OVER the hump at 51!
LMAO! I have to ask the covered call writers......is your finger a twitching? I only ask because getting monetarily swallowed a few days before expiration is, well, painful, you lose cash, you lose you stock.......OUCH!
pathological loyalty is a dangerous but welcome characteristic of you lefties!
Jokebama wants to emulate Mandela!/ LMAO! Maybe he and his RACE PIG friends like OPRAH, JACKSON, and SHARPTEN should all stop thje preaching of hate through their words and their actions. Trayvon/Zimmerman comes to mind......the BEER SUMMIT Obama was FORCED to have in order to save face.....it never ends with the RACISTS on the left. Rev Wright is the epitomy of leftwing hatred of whites and the irony on the SOUTHSIDE SLUMS of Chicago is that msot af. American kids have no reason why they hate whites except that this is how they were rasied by good ole Mom the meth monger and Dad who is in prison or buried somewhere.
OBAMA is a two faced beotch when it comes to race......he and his circle of black hooded Knights mentioned above have done far more to HARM RACE relations than to help the situation. Why not TELL EVERYONE to do away with their race identity card? I mean a Southsider is a BLACK before he/she is an american or even a Chicagoan for that matter! HAAAALE, Rev Wright PREACHES IT!
In fact if anything, the black hooded knights mentioned above have started teaching whites to hate blacks where before, their was not friction.
Some DIKWEED hedgie or his friends have decided to play god and load up 17,000 contracts at 50 bucks...otherwise, the momentum would be running the price into the low to mid 50's.
Obviously someone is protecting a short while they unwind....................DIKWEEDS to the Nth degree and while its fun to watch hedgies fall on their own sword monetarily speaking, it isn;t fun when they end up REAR ENDING the Mom-n-Pops.........EFFFFFFFing hedge foks!
The first game I ever went to was at Soldiers Field///DA-BEARZ vs Packers...Bart Starr was the QB for the Packers....I was too young (grade school) to appreciate what I was watching but these cheeseburgers with ONLY mustard and onions were phenominal!
Ditka is old school....he played with Buffone//Butkus/Sayers and there are a few other big names I have forgotten...but he also gave us Payton, McMichaels/Hampton/Singletary/McMahon/the Fridge..and so many others.......Ditka taught what he grew up with, smashmouth no=nonsense Chicago Football....he was a Halas DREAM.....controlled violent collision rough and tumble football...on cruise control requiring nothing but a uniform....water....and food......same for Butkus and others.........these guys were the true Monsters of Midway......and Halas finally conveyed his style of football into a championship! .......I LOVE THE BEARS.....and it was about FRICKING TIME when 1985 rolled around.......I hope I see it happen again before I cash in all my chips so to speak!
On the otherhand, I am very happy to no longer live in Illinois/Chicagoland area with the OUTRAGEOUS taxes......ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY to tax payers for outrageous spending/pensions etc. Seems the Good Fellas became alittle TOO entrenched in the very (all the) fabric of everyday life in Chicago tilting the table toward themselves for decades and now the bill is due. Oh well.........the Land of Lincoln has become the Land of Thieves....bilking tax payers at every turn......unbelievable......my taxes in Nevada are literally a FRACTION of what they were/would be today, in Illinois.............anyways.....GO BEARZ !!!!!
