After more than a year of round-the-clock drilling, large amounts of oil have been found on the Golan Heights. Estimates are that the amount of oil discovered will make Israel self sufficient for very many years to come.
Supertanker rates are currently the highest they have been since 2008. One reason for the tanker companies recent good performance.
Many here have some small smiles on their faces after the past few days of positive markets. Surely most still have quite a ways to go to recover back to pre sell off values but every little bit helps. My MLPs and REITs have all be doing well. I have a stop /loss on yesterday's buys but will keep moving them up if they continue in that direction. First time I"ve EVER used a stop/loss
I really enjoyed the Jobs biography and will definitely go to see the movie. I got a call from my son last night from the Mt. Everest IMAX movie in DC. If you remember he climbed Kilimanjaro last Feb. He went with his whole climbing team and said they had a ball. Hope he doesn't have THAT target in his future.
My buy yesterday of BBEP @ $2.33 looks pretty good (right now) - $2.74. As long as oil is on the upturn I think MLPs deserve some short term interest. Also picked up one mentioned on the MLP IV board, AZUR and also nicely up. Forgive my bragging. Haven't had much to gloat about recently :~).
ed, why should they work hard when they can get the same kind of income from government handouts to not work at all. Good work on the 5 year numbers.
wally, you beat me to the question.....but I don't think we'll have an answer until NRZ says "we've received a $3mm payment from OCN for month 1 of default. In any event as hana says, this gets the quarter off to a great start" :~)
OK Mike, you got your MLPs. Selective BDCs and REITs are certainly in the mix. My perma bull REIT is NRZ, growing strongly, increasing dividends and has become one of the top mortgage servicers in the industry. Fairly immune to interest rate hikes and just raised the divvy this week. As a BDC I'd go with ARCC, one of the most consistent and under rated BDCs. Good yield and just upgraded this week by Macquerie. I've owned both for many years. Your timing could be great as we may be sitting on a breakout period for stocks from this downturn and there's still some great buys out there. GLTU.
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- New Residential Investment Corp. (NYSE:NRZ; “New Residential” or the “Company”) today announced that it has repaid $2.5 billion of term notes issued by the HLSS Servicer Advance Receivables Trust (“HSART”).
The $2.5 billion HSART term notes became immediately due and payable as a result of, and solely as a result of, the master servicer rating downgrade of Ocwen Loan Servicing, LLC (“Ocwen”), announced by Standard & Poor’s Rating Services on September 29, 2015.
New Residential had previously secured approximately $4 billion of surplus servicer advance financing commitments from its lenders. The excess financing capacity was used to repay the $2.5 billion HSART term notes at par.
“From the early stages of planning for the HLSS acquisition, we were thoughtful in managing our liquidity and were diligent in securing surplus financing commitments to ensure a seamless paydown of the $2.5 billion term notes in the event of an Ocwen servicer rating downgrade,” comments Michael Nierenberg, Chief Executive Officer of New Residential.
“Under our surplus funding commitments, we are able to increase our advance rates and free up approximately $200 million of additional liquidity for near-term deployment. Furthermore, we look forward to continuing to work closely with Ocwen as one of our primary servicing partners.”
