the one marked healthcare.
If you bought it at $10.91 and received the NRZ spinoff then you're sitting on a 6.1% gain overall since 5/15, NOT including some nice dividends.. In your case you MUST take into consideration the two companies combined.
keebon: I bought Sevan purely as a spec stock (the only one I own without a divvy) and will continue to hold it and watch if anything plays out. I put those kind of stocks and my very long term holdings that I don't watch every day (VZ, ED, UTF, NCT/NRZ) on a separate Yahoo portfolio page which I visit occasionally. I don't intend to sell any of them for a long, long time. I've only got 8k shares of SDRNF so I won't go broke if it disappears LOL. JF has always been good to me
Just unloaded my TWO after about 3 years. Including dividends broke about even. Just consolidating some positions and raising cash, hopefully to pick up some bargains soon.
I saw that and laughed. In the first article they called SDRL a "Roof Leaker" stock and in the second article it was a "Storm the Castle" stock. Do you think they realize what complete dolts they look like.
Would YOU forget having stayed at a relatives home for some time waiting for college? I think NOT. He conveniently forgets major personal events if they would call into question his past statements or hurt him politically. End of topic.
Another fact that our esteemed leader conveniently "forgot". If the White House didn't have such good plastic surgeons his nose would be at least 6" long by now with all the lies he tells.
Sarge: As has happened the past few months, the employment numbers have been the "tell". BAD numbers and the market has run up and vice versa. Good numbers signal the Fed that the economy is improving and therefore tapering odds become much lower. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that this slow market sell off the past week or so is part of the "here comes the taper decline". Perhaps it will help mute the kneejerk reactions.
I've had MEMP on my list for about 6 months (when SC4 mentioned it) and it's now come down about 13%. Might be a good "inflection point" (like that quote :~)
Sarge, Cramer was pumping all the Canadian banks last night. More flames on the fire. Agree totally with Vinny, re: stay away from healthcare presently. This thing has yet to blow up and who knows what the future will bring for the insurance stocks.
How about my daughter's friend who went for an eye exam yesterday. They insisted, because of Obamacare, they had to take her height and weight. Luckily they didn't insist on a pregnancy test before testing her vision. What next!
After a month of steady downward movement something has triggered an almost 4% rise in NRZ this morning. Lots of guesses but only time will tell. Company stated in last CC that they would have about .03 in undistributed income to pay before year end, which would make the next divvy about .20-.21, over a 10% increase.
Wally, something that hasn't been brought up recently, seeing as we're in December, is the tax implications of the NRZ spinoff to both companies. Most of us long term holders and many big holders are still in the dark as to the exact numbers that will be reported on the 1099s for NCT and NRZ as to cost basis. This could be impacting the trading of both companies in the past few weeks as holders try to decide on their strategies for year end tax planning. Hope some numbers people on the board will chime in with their thoughts.
