mark: I put in the order about 8:45 am at $10.85, a nickle above it's previous close and went out for an errand. Opened at $10.98 and never looked back. When I got home it was already up nearly a buck. Again I say crappola. :~). Have a great 4th.
Just stay happy and make loads of money. Report just came out from the CDC stating the suicide rates for occupations in the US. FARMERS were #1 with Lumberjacks and fishermen in second and third. I leave you to have a Happy 4th on that sobering news. LOL. Stay Healthy My Friend as the Most Interesting Man in the World always says.
Go SILVER. I knew if I kept my safe locked and resisted the temptation to sell my silver coins it would eventually pay off. Now, if the Hunt Bros. were still in the business...........................
mark: I put in a buy order on SXCP before the market opened and went out. Just got back and I see it's up big time and my order never got triggered. Too bad, might have just flipped it today.
bill. I'm sure many of us here are laughing at SXCP as we migrated to this board from FDG Coal, a Canadian Met Coal producer which was bought out by TCK Resources. You make a strong case and if you don't mind I've posted a few questions on the IV MLP board on the company. There are many sharpies there whose comments I've come to respect over the years. I'll post back here any relevant comments. I never thought I'd EVER think about a coal company again :~). Vin, mark, DH, what think you. Mark did mention a few weeks back that TCK was roaring (UP 260% this year alone). That kinda confirms the sector is hot and SXCP's distribution makes it tempting. TCK pays a minuscule dividend and it IS Canadian, which adds a different spin on the tax situation.
I just noticed the two day move in UTF this morning. It really had not participated in the utility rally the past few weeks. Hopefully now it will catch up.
Hey ed. Never knew about this board till stagg mentioned it. Still don't know why two boards (sfl) but whatever. I posted that NRZ article on the NRZ board and thought I had posted it on the two others but I guess I forgot. My bad. That author, achilles, has been a long time bull on NRZ and writes many articles touting it. So far he's been right on. ETP my steady dividend bank since 2010. Glad it's recovered and continues to pay out handsomely. I added my second buy on AMID yesterday (thanks bill). Hope to hold longer than 6 weeks this time but my 30% profit last time wasn't too shabby.
Hi bob. If you're thinking about the timing it should be just around now, or next week latest. Last declaration was 3/29. NRZ was a bit later than normal this week. I don't hold it anymore so I don't follow it.
mark: re: how they did in 2008: NCT, which was a 9.5% yielder for a couple of years barely stayed out of BK. I bought a large chunk @.41 cents , mainly to lower my basis, which at the time was about $27.00 (lowered to about $3.00).. It certainly worked out well for me but as you stated, many higher yielding stocks either went under or have never recovered. So far NCT is the stock that keeps on giving NRZ, SNR, NEWM,NCT).
mark: $1,400 invested in 100 shares of ED in 1973. Today the ED is worth, with DRIPS.... ....wait for it.........$126,000, slightly less than a 100 bagger and I gave away 400 shares to my grandkids over the years.. As I"ve always posted, best money I ever spent.
