Ships at sea, cars/trucks, aircraft...all require the little black microbes.
I hear you about the proliferation of wind turbines. I live in Washington State. When I first started to visit Eastern Wa (windy place...) there were NO turbines. Inside of eight years they are showing up on every hilltop...ugly as sin. I have to wonder if the numbers are growing in large part because of tax incentives...since a lot of the time, the blades are motionless.
I still drive a gas guzzling PU truck that gets 16MPG. From where I sit, oil's not going anywhere but up once the politics get ugly enough.
There is speculation that in two years oil will be trading back in the $80/barrel range. Between now and then, the divvy accumulation on my MMP shares will put me, and other holders, in the catbird seat. Alternative energy is a lot of hot air. Oil isn't going anywhere but up in the years to come.
