Its quite clear that funds are covering their short positions day by day...just check out the daily changes in the short interest figures...they are doing this without letting the price rip which implies serious fund desks at work.. the bashers here are probably paid and part of this operation.
Well , De Masi is on record as saying he is "fully aligned with shareholders interests and therefore open to offers for the company " .. But he also said any such offer would have to make original investors in the IPO whole .. And his actions have kind of supported this viz a viz stock offering and executive co tract rewording which some have suggested is a deterrent to a low ball offer ..absent this i think we would have already seen an approach at way below the IPO price .. Hey who wouldn't have been glad to see an offer of $ 6-7 when the stock was in the $2-3 range .. No .. IMO De Masi is setting his stall out quite clearly for the long run .. He sees himself at the helm of an EA sized empire a few years down the line ... That's why we have solid long term , growth investors on board ... So anyone contemplating this offer has to bear all this in mind .. Would a sub IPO bid , say in the $8-10 range succeed ? Who knows ... What really matters is not hit games as some here would have you believe ... It's how successful GAAS is as a piece of IP at monetizing ANY game .... This is what an acquirer will be paying for .
Agreed . I have been saying the same too . When I started following gluu a good few years ago there was a large t/ over-possibility premium in the price .. This disapated and the focus turned to profitabity .. Ask yourself , how much of the 4.72 current price is attributable now to t/over possibity?
Can't post the link but it is in Seeking Alpha news... Here's the text:
After trading near breakeven much of the day, Glu Mobile (GLUU +4.1%) is rallying in the wake of an upbeat Cowen note. The firm says talks with management left it optimistic Glu, which thus far has depended heavily on in-app purchases to monetize gains, will be able to ramp its in-game ad sales.
Cowen report an upbeat meeting with management ... Feeling that ad revs will be more significant a contributor to earnings than in-app purchases... Nice !!
Not true .. The topic of Hany Nada's preplanned sales re insider trading was covered clearly by numerous posters here . If he knew of an impending offer he would be in breach if he cancelled these preplanned sales .. Fact . Glu is a tasty morsel surrounded by large mobile-hungry sharks . Takeover .. Rumoured or real ... Will soon materialise.
a good name to have onboard...long term value driven investors (not short term trader). The next catalyst could well be UBS initiating coverage... they seem to be understanding the future significance of the gaming sector...
I am sure they are looking .. As I said , it's just a case if who , when and how much ... Anyone still short is going to wake up to a nasty surprise very very soon
