I don't see where tMSFT could generate "extra" earnings last quarter, looking at MSFT previous history - even if we "miss" the train by sitting out next couple days - it is not like from now on MSFT will only go up... It is a healthy stock to accumulate. Just think - if they miss this quarter, and stock goes down, then drags for next month or two, XBOX sales and some interest in Surface and Nokia devices will add revenue by next earnings call, also there will be some additional revenue from Obamacare roll-out. Then the probability of beating earnings estimates will be much higher than nowadays
There is a heavy selling this morning by people "in the know". Microsoft will have a good upcoming quarter with Nokia phones and XBOX, but this one will be a miss, I like Microsoft (worked with them many times) and I believe it is a good buy in November, but we need to survive that dive after they will miss earnings on Thursday
Won't be a good quarter, get out while it is not late, then get back from Nov
You cannot compare smoke to a fire, most of Google's revenue is ad-driven smoke, it is actually less this quarter than last year's. Short term it is much better to be in Google, but starting next quarter when Xbox sales will kick in and Nokia phones and Windows tablets find their way to the market - Microsoft will be a better and safer bet than Google
You have to compare to stocks with similar financials, not to bubbles like FB, look at MSFT for example with same Market Cap... In case of Google I don't expect any positive surprises, only in revenue, but they were consistently missing estimates for profits, same might happen this time too. It would be nice if Google beats estimates and stock jumps to 910+ levels, but I'd rather wait and accumulate at 850-860.
Where do "extra" earnings will come this and next quarter? And, in mid-January all political rhetoric will start again... But, in February, if the debt ceiling won't fall on us - then there will be many new or re-enrolled members. So my guess the good time to get into Healthcare Insurance stocks will be beginning of next year, not now
MSFT still has a week before earnings, the question is what is going to happen to the stock during that week based on the following events: Today's Google earnings, Nokia's event on 22nd and Apple'e event on 22nd?
Most likely Google will beat revenue and miss profit (as usual) - and will fall in after-hours, is that good or bad for MSFT?
Sentiment: Strong Buy
They will beat in revenue and match or miss in profits, at 888 they are still too high, if I were you I would sit it out, it is better to buy them cheap if they fall after earnings than wait for a miracle to go over 900...
All financial stats look good, even if they lose some members in Obamacare enrollment, they have the best efficacy among healthcare insurers. Their IT systems were the first to adopt all Trizetto solutions 5 years ago, and by now you would expect them running a business like a well-oiled bmw engine
Sentiment: Strong Buy
